MLB Baseball Betting

  • Rays' surprising run continues
  • Cubs still look dominant in the NL
  • Mets trying to fend off Phillies

1. Chicago Cubs (80-50). The good news? Since a July 26 loss to the Marlins, Chicago is a whopping 19-6. The great news? The Cubbies are 9-1 on the road in that span. So much for their only weakness. Look out, Major League Baseball: Chicago definitely has a World Series set in its sights.

2. Tampa Bay Rays (79-50*). It's been a good month for the Rays, who have gone 15-6 in August. Injuries to key players (Carl Crawford, Evan Longoria) should have slowed this club but they keep grinding away. MLB baseball betting is certainly a lot more exciting without the Yankees and Red Sox just pounding through the AL East.

3. Milwaukee Brewers (76-55). A four-game win streak over last week and the weekend has the Brew Crew cruising again. It might be tough sledding to catch the Cubs for first place in the National League Central, but you have to like Milwaukee's MLB baseball betting odds to earn the Wild Card. C.C. Sabathia (8-0) has been unreal.

4. Minnesota Twins (74-56). Minny has won 13 of its last 17 outings with little fanfare in the media. That's probably just fine for the Twins, who will quietly keep plugging away while trying to beat out the Chicago White Sox for the AL Central title.

5. New York Mets (72-59). Ten wins in 13 games is great for the Mets but, with Philadelphia still fighting for the NL East lead, they can't afford any slip ups. Losing closer Billy Wagner for possibly three weeks will only complicate matters for New York, not to mention MLB baseball betting.
