College Football Picks – BCS Bowl Predictions
NCAA football betting players are getting ready to make their college football picks for the 2010 season, and for the last couple of seasons, the major conferences, namely the SEC and the Big 12, have hogged the BCS title-game spotlight. Look for
BCS Championship Game – Boise State vs. Alabama
If the Broncos go undefeated again, along with wins over Virginia Tech at a neutral site that favors the Hokies, and Pac-10 favorites Oregon State, they deserve to be in this game. The Crimson Tide, playing in the mighty SEC as the defending national champions, will definitely earn a spot in this game by winning their conference. The Broncos have won both of their BCS appearances in thrilling fashion, but they're going to need all the tricks in their bag to pull out a win against a tough Alabama team where the offense may be better than their defense, which is one of the best in the country.
College Football Picks: Alabama
Rose Bowl – Oregon State vs. Ohio State
The Beavers came up just short in their bid for their first Pac-10 crown since 2000, and their first Rose Bowl berth since 1965, but they'll make it this year because of great skill players and the sanctions against USC preventing the Trojans from playing in the postseason. The Buckeyes will get some BCS title talk because of their Big Ten championship, but really, is the Big Ten that much tougher than the Western Athletic Conference (where Boise State plays)? The Buckeyes broke a three-game losing streak in BCS games with their Rose Bowl win over Oregon last year, but the Beavers get a measure of revenge for their state rivals.
College Football Picks: Oregon State
Fiesta Bowl – Texas vs. TCU
In an all-Texas matchup, this game will be huge because many feel the Horned Frogs could be competing in the Big 12, where the Longhorns reign supreme. Texas will show why they decided to stay in the Big 12 by rolling to another conference title, but the Horned Frogs will prove that they capable of playing with the big boys of the BCS with a gutsy performance and earn the win over their high-profile cousins. This won't be that big of an upset: the Horned Frogs are really, really good.
College Football Picks: TCU
Sugar Bowl – Florida vs. Oklahoma
These two met in the 2008 BCS title game, with the Gators coming away with a 24-14 win. They'll get their spots because of the conferences they play in, which means they're allowed a little wiggle room for a loss. Getting to a BCS title game would be huge because both programs lost Heisman-winning quarterbacks after the 2009 season, but Florida's John Brantley and Oklahoma's Landry Jones will end up making names for themselves as well. We're going with the Sooners, who like Ohio State last year, have a reputation of coming up short in BCS games with five straight losses. They'll play with that on their mind, as well as revenge for the '08 loss to the Gators.
College Football Picks: Oklahoma
Orange Bowl – Miami vs. Connecticut
The Hurricanes are 5-1 all-time in the Orange Bowl, which used to be played in their home stadium of the same name. So it's only right that their reward for their first ACC title since 2003 is a home game at Sun Life Stadium, where they will welcome the Huskies, the Big East champions who rode the momentum of last year's tragedy (the murder of cornerback Jasper Howard) into a 2010 conference title. The Huskies will be the sentimental favorites, but this will show that “The U†is back, and online betting players should take notice for 2011.
