As we head into the crucial part of the NFL betting season, one of the most unpredictable divisions for offshore sportsbooks to get a hold on is the NFC East, as all four teams enter Week 11 action with a record above .500. This week’s divisional match-up takes place in Washington on Sunday night, where the Redskins will try to overcome some injuries against the Dallas Cowboys, who could be getting some very important pieces back in the lineup.

Despite its difficulty, online betting players always enjoy the challenge of the NFC East, so if you are looking to bet on sports, look no further.

The Cowboys (5-4) are coming off a much-needed bye week and it could not have come at a better time as quarterback Tony Romo (finger) and cornerback Terence Newman (abdomen) should be back in the lineup. Romo’s return is especially important as the Dallas offense has suffered mightily in his absence, culminating in a 35-14 whipping at the hands of the Giants on the road two weeks ago when they gained only 183 yards and committed four turnovers.

The Dallas defense is still solid, but when your offense isn’t producing it has to be tiring physically and mentally. The return of Romo has made Dallas this week’s favorite according to these Cowboys vs Redskins odds, but this NFL line could fluctuate throughout the week.

The Redskins (6-3) are also coming off a bye, but the word around camp is that running back Clinton Portis (knee) is questionable for the game, which would be a huge blow to a Washington team that was handled 23-6 at home by Pittsburgh (that had Byron Leftwich at quarterback, no less).

Portis has been bothered by a number of nagging ailments this season and it appeared to catch up to him in the Pittsburgh game, which ended Portis’ streak of 100-plus yard games at five. This would put a lot of pressure on Jason Campbell, who isn’t usually asked to put up big numbers, but rather to manage the game.

However, Cowboys vs Redskins betting has the Redskins as home underdogs, as they not only have Portis’ injury to deal with, but his backup Ladell Betts and defensive veterans Shawn Springs and Jason Taylor are injured too.

STAN’S PICK: Cowboys vs Redskins betting is dicey to open the week as offshore sportsbooks are waiting to hear the extent of Portis’ injury. The running back has been fighting through injuries all year, so it’s safe to say he isn’t 100 percent.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys will surely receive a boost with Romo back and Newman improves the secondary, meaning it will be difficult for Campbell to have a big day. Some offshore sportsbooks have the Cowboys as favorites from 1.5 to 2.5 points, and this will increase if Portis is ruled out. With the uncertainty of the Washington running game and Romo’s return, bet on the Dallas Cowboys to stay alive in the NFC East race with a win this week.
