Florida vs Florida State odds: Gators big faves on the road

  • WHO: Florida (-15) vs Florida State
  • WHAT: NCAA Football Betting
  • WHEN: Saturday, November 29 at 3:30 PM ET
  • WHERE: Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida
  • KEY STATS: Florida is 12-0 in last 12 November games; Florida State is 1-3 in last four versus SEC opponents
  • PICK: Florida

The Florida vs Florida State betting matchup isn’t giving Florida State much credit given the unexpected season it’s having. The Seminoles sit atop the ACC Atlantic division with an 8-3 record but are clearly not expected to win this contest of in-state rivals.

Those who bet online know the Florida Gators are one of the top teams in the nation and are on a collision course with the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC championship. While the Seminoles do have a decent defense, which held Maryland to just three points last weekend, the Gators have been thrashing much better defensive units all season.

Since losing to Ole Miss, online betting sharps have watched the Gators rip off seven straight wins while averaging 52 points per game. Included in those seven wins are South Carolina’s prime defense as well as Kentucky, Vanderbilt and LSU.

Florida has climbed to the No. 2 ranking in the nation and, although Florida State is also ranked, playing in the ACC is much easier than the SEC. No wonder the Florida vs Florida State line has crept to over two touchdowns.

Sports book enthusiasts should take into account that the Seminoles have lost two of their last four games to Georgia Tech and Boston College, which is partly why the Seminoles are such a big home underdog.

Right now, sportsbook odds and online betting handicappers can’t make a line big enough to offset Florida’s offense.

The Gators are 10-1 on the year and have covered eight of those spreads. Since losing to Ole Miss, Florida has faced online betting lines of 26.5, 6.5, 25, 7.5, 24 and 21, and covered every single time.

BLAKE’S PICK: Florida is on course for the BCS Championship game. Even against a hated rival, expect the Gators to win and cover once again the Florida vs FSU odds.

Blake walked onto his college football team and had a brief stint as an assistant coach after he graduated. He brings a sharp mind to the world of sports handicapping. Blake understands the nuances of the game that only someone who has played would understand, and he was one of the few who gave the Giants a chance against the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
