Florida State vs. Miami odds: ’Noles, ’Canes aim to restore passion to rivalry

  • WHO: Florida State Seminoles (+2) at Miami Hurricanes (-2)
  • WHAT: NCAA football betting, ACC conference
  • WHEN: October 4 at 3:30 PM
  • WHERE: Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida
  • KEY STATS: Miami has won seven of their last ten meetings with Florida State
  • PICK: Florida State

For most of the 1990s and the early part of the 2000s, the Hurricanes and Seminoles were known as two of the top NCAA football programs in the country, leading to some great Florida State vs. Miami betting. While neither team is currently ranked in the top 25, the online sportsbook community should be filled with fans of both schools looking for an edge on Saturday.

The Hurricanes host the Seminoles at Dolphin Stadium, and the home team has a slim edge in Florida State vs. Miami lines.

The ’Noles rebounded from a tough loss at home to Wake Forest by beating Colorado 39-21, also at home. Florida State outscored the Buffaloes 18-0 over the second and third quarters.

Antone Smith broke out for 154 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, making up for a subpar performance from quarterback Christian Ponder, who was 10-of-22 for 119 yards and a pick. Florida State also overcame 12 penalties but, if you’re Florida State vs. Miami betting, you should know they can’t afford that many mistakes against good teams.

The ’Canes lost a 10-point lead with 10 minutes to go in last week’s 28-24 loss at home to North Carolina, as the defense collapsed and Robert Marve threw two late picks.

This late fade ruined an otherwise solid performance from the Hurricanes, who held the Tar Heels to a mere 35 rushing yards. Graig Cooper ran for 110 yards and caught a major for Miami, while Marve was 18-of-27 for 135 yards and three touchdowns. But his two interceptions sealed Miami’s fate.

BLAKE’S PICK: Florida State vs. Miami odds favor the home side, and the Hurricanes have won seven of their last 10 meetings with FSU.

Florida State vs. Miami betting  could be ugly with two young quarterbacks at the helm, meaning lots of mistakes. Expect lots of rushing attempts by Florida State and Miami, who have gone UNDER the total points in six of their last eight games.

Defense will be the name of the game, and Florida State’s is better by a small margin. Bet on the Florida State Seminoles as a two-point underdog to drop their bitter rivals from Miami.
