Georgia vs LSU odds have the home team favored by just under a field goal but both teams are desperate for a win to get back into the BCS picture.

Georgia was a preseason National Championship favorite and a sexy pick for those who bet on sports, but it endured an ugly loss to Alabama.

LSU is the reigning champ and was also a sharp pick by online sports betting aficionados, but also endured a horrendous loss to Florida.

Even so, with both teams ranked in the Top 11, the winner stands to vault up the standings with a victory.

LSU’s defense has been questionable at times this season, most notably in its 51-21 loss to Florida, but it held South Carolina to only three net yards in its final five possessions of the game and 42 total yards in the second half. The Tigers have seemingly regained their swagger.

Many sports betting fans felt LSU was in a bad spot in the Florida contest and is a much stiffer defense to score on at home. LSU has allowed an average of 13.3 points per game at home but allowed 29.6 on the road.

The same can be said for Georgia, which has recovered from a stinging loss to Alabama a few weeks ago. Georgia bounced back with wins against Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Even so, Georgia hasn’t lived up to the preseason expectations. Although the Bulldogs are 6-1, they’ve had trouble disposing of weaker opponents. Online betting sharps watched them beat South Carolina by seven, Arizona State by 17, Tennessee by 12 and Vanderbilt by 10.

Part of the problem is simply not converting opportunities into points. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has gotten away with two interceptions in back-to-back games while Georgia also missed two fields goals last Saturday.

In reality, most people don’t care about the margin. The BCS computers do and so do those people who bet online, so the Georgia vs LSU line is of the upmost importance.

BLAKE’S PICK: The last six games in this series have been split down the middle on the spread but LSU is 4-3 in its last seven games when it was a home underdog of three points or less. When making your Georgia vs LSU pick, Bet on Georgia to get the job done this week.
