Jaguars vs Broncos betting: both teams looking to rebound from losses
-
WHO: Jacksonville Jaguars at Denver Broncos (-3)
- WHAT: NFL betting
- WHEN: Sunday, October 12
- WHERE: Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado
- KEY STATS: Jacksonville has won three of its last four against Denver
- PICKS: Denver on the moneyline, and a push on the points
The Jacksonville Jaguars were picked by many in the online sportsbook community to challenge the likes of New England, San Diego and Indianapolis in the AFC, but they head into Week 6 just trying to get back to .500 before their bye week. This week they face Denver, which is getting a three-point edge in Jaguars vs Broncos odds.
The Jaguars (2-3) put up only 213 yards, including 39 on the ground, in a 26-21 loss at home against Pittsburgh. With a pair of running backs like Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew, you would think the ground game would be the strength of the Jacksonville attack, but the duo has been relatively quiet to date, putting pressure on David Garrard.
To be fair,
Garrard performed well against the Steelers, going 18-of-32 for 200 yards and a touchdown, but he’s not the type of quarterback who can carry an offense by himself. Also, from an
online betting standpoint, the Jaguars have been brutal, going 1-4 against the spread A road game isn’t going to help their NFL odds.
The Broncos (4-1) rode
their best defensive effort of the season to a 16-13 victory at home over Tampa Bay, holding the Buccaneers without a touchdown until the final two minutes of regulation.
The defense stepped up when
Jay Cutler had a tough time against the Tampa Bay defense. Cutler actually fared pretty well with 227 yards and a touchdown on 23-of-34 passing, and he looks more poised with each and every outing. The
Jaguars vs Broncos line is three points in favor of Denver, who have not beaten the spread since demolishing Oakland in Week 1.
STAN’S PICK: Jacksonville has won three of its last four meetings with Denver, including a 23-14 victory at Mile High last year. The
Broncos are 3-0 at home but have yet to win by more than three points, making Jaguars vs Broncos betting a little tougher.
Jacksonville is the type of team that keeps it close and this game should be no exception. For your
Jaguars vs Broncos pick bet on the Denver Broncos on the moneyline, but Jacksonville will make it a push on the points.
