Monday Night Football odds have presented an intriguing matchup as we’ll take a look at the Jaguars vs Texans odds this week. Monday Night Football betting has been much more entertaining this season in comparison to last year so we’ll expect another tight game between two desperate squads this coming week.

The Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars are 4-7 and likely need to win their remaining games to make the playoffs.

The Texans have yet to win a divisional game and have lost a number of them in painful fashion. One of those grueling losses was an overtime contest at the hands of the Jaguars in Jacksonville earlier in the year.

Sportsbook odds have the Texans as a three-point favorite at home, essentially denoting home-field advantage. While the Texans look like they are still trying to build towards something, the Jaguars might be close to tapping out.

Handicappers who bet online have observed the Jags’ demeanor over the last few weeks and it has not been good. The Jags, who were expected to be a Super Bowl contender heading into this season, lost three of their four November games and four of their last five overall.

Sportsbook bettors should take notice that those losses including defeats at home to Cleveland, Tennessee and Minnesota and a road loss to Cincinnati. Their only win in their last five games was on the road against the winless Detroit Lions.

Online betting sharps know the Texans have been equally abysmal this season and defeated only one team with a winning record: the Miami Dolphins. Their remaining three wins came against teams whose combined record is 5-27 (Lions, Bengals and Browns).

While both teams are struggling, there are a couple of edges that favor the Jaguars. For starters, they won’t have to deal with Matt Schaub, who was 29-40 for 307 yards and three touchdowns in the first meeting. Sportsbook bettors need to keep in mind that his backup, Sage Rosenfels, has five touchdown passes and 10 turnovers (nine interceptions, one fumble) in just five games of work.

STAN’S PICK: The Jaguars play better on the road than they do at home; Jacksonville is 3-2 on the road and just 1-5 at home. Look for the Jaguars to run the ball and get a win on Monday Night Football. Bet on Jacksonville.
