Saturday night’s alright for fighting, and for NHL betting. With a full slate of NHL odds every week, sportsbook customers have the opportunity to cash in on plenty of great value. Here’s a look at this weekend’s best three-game NHL parlay bet.
Game #1: Atlanta Thrashers vs. New Jersey Devils
If it weren’t for the New York Islanders, the Atlanta Thrashers would be the worst team in the NHL. And, if it weren’t for the Dallas Stars’ slump to begin the season, the Thrashers would also have allowed more goals than anyone else in the league.
Up next for Atlanta on Saturday is the perennial Eastern Conference-contender New Jersey Devils—the masters of the neutral zone trap. Outside of Ilya Kovalchuk, the powder-blue clad Thrashers don’t have any gamebreakers in their lineup.
Keep in mind the Devils have home-ice advantage, and thus last change—the ability to match up excellent checkers like Jay Pandolfo with Kovalchuk. This should be a no-brainer for NHL betting sharps, regardless of the NHL lines—add it to the list!
Game #2: Montreal Canadiens vs. Ney York Islanders
Speaking of the Islanders, NHL picks are always bound for success when you pick their opponent, no matter how lopsided the NHL odds are. In this highly anticipated rematch of the Clarence Campbell Conference finals of 1993, the Montreal Canadiens will again be heavily favored on NHL betting lines.
The Canadiens power-play has been struggling as of late, which should keep the Canadiens vs Islanders line fair, however the porous Isles defense is exactly what the doctor ordered for rehabilitation.
Game #3: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. St. Louis Blues
The absence of Sidney Crosby (injured) will severely hurt the Penguins’ chances in this game, especially on the road. Unless Evgeni Malkin steps up as he did last year, Pittsburgh has shown that it tends to run around quite a bit without Crosby’s stabilizing influence up the middle.
This plays right into the Blues’ hands—a team with arguably the best power play in the NHL right now. They might not be the best even-strength players, but Brad Boyes, Paul Kariya and Keith Tkachuk all love to shoot the puck and they do it well.
St. Louis has been nearly unstoppable with the man advantage, and expect it to get plenty of opportunities to show its skill in this one. Even with the Crosby injury, NHL spreads should favor Pittsburgh by more than a goal in this match-up, adding some extra money to your payout.
