THE PICK: Ohio State
The Wisconsin Badgers undoubtedly have one of the toughest schedules in all of NCAA football, and NCAA football betting sharps certainly weren’t expecting them to run the Big Ten gauntlet and go undefeated. But nobody thought they’d lose to Michigan.
Ohio State vs. Wisconsin odds slightly favor the Buckeyes after Wisconsin uncharacteristically squandered lead after lead and struggled to control the football. Star running back P.J. Hill was all but silenced by the Wolverines defense.
The Badgers’ special teams unit allowed two 80-plus yard kick returns that aided Michigan’s comeback greatly, while quarterback Allan Evridge tossed up two interceptions and lost two fumbles in the 27-25 loss. As crazy as it is, Michigan covered the NCAA football spreads by one point.
Meanwhile, Ohio State found a new identity against Minnesota after slipping against USC earlier this year, giving new life to Ohio State vs. Wisconsin lines.
It seems as though super-hyped freshman Terrelle Pryor has snatched the starting quarterback job from Todd Boeckman after rushing for two touchdowns last Saturday and throwing for one more.
Preseason Heisman candidate Chris Wells made his return wearing reinforced shoes to protect his injured ankle, and ran for 106 yards on only 14 carries. Despite only appearing in mop-up duty in the first three games, it is Pryor—a quarterback—who leads the Buckeyes in rushing yards, with 292.
With their new rush-oriented offense, Ohio State vs. Wisconsin betting swings in the Buckeyes’ favor. After struggling to defend Michigan’s rushing attack and kick returns, question marks swirl around the Wisconsin defense, making the NCAA football odds in the Ohio State vs. Wisconsin matchup tremendous value.
BLAKE’S PICK: It will be very interesting to find out what Terrelle Pryor can do now that he’s the consensus No. 1 Buckeyes quarterback, but all signs point to a huge Ohio State victory. Oddsmakers aren’t giving the Buckeyes enough credit on Ohio State vs. Wisconsin betting odds—be sure to play the points and bet on Ohio State.
