A matchup between a pair of 5-0 teams from the Big 12 will be sure to intrigue those looking to bet on sports on Saturday, as third-ranked Missouri hosts No.17 Oklahoma State, which has been making people in the online sportsbook community take notice.
Oklahoma State vs Missouri odds give the advantage to the Tigers, but they will have their hands full with the upstart Cowboys, who have lit up the scoreboard this season.
The Cowboys got three non-offensive touchdowns (two interceptions, one punt return) in a 56-28 romp at home over Texas A&M, and this was their fourth straight game with 55 points or more. Zac Robinson was coolly efficient, going 10-of-13 for 186 yards and three touchdowns, all to Dez Bryant, who also ran back a punt.
Kendall Hunter just missed his fifth consecutive 100-yard game with 90 rushing yards, and the defense forced five turnovers, but the common consensus is that the Cowboys haven’t really faced any stiff competition yet, which is why the Oklahoma State vs Missouri line has made it such a large underdog this week.
While Oklahoma State is third in the nation in points scored, Missouri is just ahead of them at second, and Missou put on an offensive clinic in a 52-17 rout at Nebraska last week, its first win in 30 years on the road against the Cornhuskers.
Heisman candidate Chase Daniel was 18-of-23 for 253 yards and three touchdowns, and given his experience (Daniel is a senior), it isn’t a stretch to say he’s the best quarterback in a conference loaded at that position.
However, the Missouri defense has looked shaky this season, coming in 83rd in the nation in total defense. The Tigers gave up 42 points against Illinois in their only meaningful game so far this season, and this makes the Oklahoma State vs Missouri spread look a little high.
BLAKE’S PICK: Oklahoma State vs Missouri betting gives the Tigers a 13.5-point spread at home, having defeated the Cowboys in five of their last seven meetings. However, Oklahoma State’s pair of wins have come in Missouri, and they’ll be eager to prove that their success this year is no fluke.
Robinson will be the key to this game; the Tigers and Daniel are going to get their points, but can Robinson and the Cowboys keep up? I think they can, due to Missouri’s defense deficiencies. Bet on Missouri on the moneyline, but they will not cover the spread.
