Although many online sports bettors will be examining the Patriots vs Chargers line for betting purposes, it’s what’s between the lines that’s generating all of the buzz. The Chargers lost at Gillette Stadium during last season’s AFC Championship game and, while many people believed these two teams would meet in the Championship game once again, both squads are struggling for a playoff berth at this point.
The Patriots will stick around on the West Coast for their second consecutive game against a California team. They disposed of the San Francisco 49ers rather easily off of a bye week but online sportsbook sharps know winning back-to-back road games is fairly difficult in the NFL.
Patriots vs Chargers odds have the Chargers listed as a 5.5-point favorite and, considering how they’ve played at home this season, the points are warranted. The
Chargers have averaged 36.0 points per game at home while they held their opponents to 27.5 points in those same games.
When you examine this point spread, it should really be much higher. The Chargers did lose last week in Miami, which dropped its record to 2-3, but when you factor in a last-second loss to Carolina and getting robbed of a win in Denver, the
Chargers could very easily be 4-1 at this point.
Meanwhile, those making their
Patriots vs Chargers pick know the Patriots are still struggling to find an identity on offense.
The loss of Tom Brady has left a big leadership void and no one player has clearly stepped up. On the flipside, their defense still looks old and sluggish.
STAN’S PICK: When
Patriots vs Chargers betting, remember that 2-3 San Diego has more desperation for the win right now.
Bet on the Chargers to get the job done.
