MLB Baseball Betting Picks:
When betting on baseball, it's never too early to look ahead. The Major League Baseball playoff races are heating, so here's a quick peak at some of the week's best series.
New York Yankees at Texas Rangers : August 4-7 at the Ballpark in Arlington
The Yankees are in a dog fight in the American League East. They're underdogs to win the title, but they're certainly in contention to capture the Wild Card. Surprisingly, Texas could find itself in a similar position. The Rangers have so much juice in their offense it's possible they could pull off a coup and steal a playoff spot. A couple of wins over New York would greatly help their cause.
Head-to-head: Yankees have won seven of past 10
Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox: August 5-7 at U.S. Cellular Field
The AL Central-leading White Sox were in the middle of the action at the trade deadline after acquiring Ken Griffey Jr. from the Reds. Chicago is hoping Griffey's bat will be enough to hold off the hard-charging Minnesota Twins for the division title. The Tigers will try to change it from a two-team race to a three-team battle. Detroit has struggled despite high expectations this season but they're still in the hunt. Odds are they can't do it, but that's what makes betting on baseball fun.
Head-to-head: Tigers and Sox have split last 10
St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs: August 8-10 at Wrigley Field
Chicago, St. Louis and Milwaukee are in a heated battle to capture the National League Central division. This should be one of the wildest races in all of Major League Baseball and make for some fantastic baseball betting picks; this series will definitely have a playoff aura about it.
Head-to-head: Cubs have won six of last 10
Florida Marlins at New York Mets: August 8-10 at Shea Stadium
This is a pivotal series for both teams, as both are duking it out with the Phillies to capture the NL East crown. The Marlins in particular have plenty at stake as they'll be coming off a three-game road trip to Philadelphia. A bunch of wins over this six-game stretch could really boost their MLB playoff hopes. New York will have something to say about that, however.
Head-to-head: Marlins and Mets have split last 10
