One member of the team had to call it a climb and discontinue her summit attempt. Sylvia, a mom of three and a climber who has attained the summit on six previous occasions, had some problems breathing. She was talked into suspending her climb and heading home. Safety is the number one priority for every climber, and so there was no thought of allowing her to continue the summit attempt.

On another note, it has been decided that of the ropes that go up the mountain, the white rope means up and the red rope means down. Unfortunately, not every climbing team is aware of this new guideline, as some teams do keep to themselves and don’t communicate very much. Plus, there are language barriers as well. The goal of this new guideline was to ease traffic jam and safety concerns going up and down Everest.

In terms of wagers from the mountain, the plans are for a Lakers money line wager on Game 3 of their series with the Rockets. Los Angeles dropped the first game, but many expect them to be a good bet to rebound and win the series.
