NASCAR betting players will switch their focus from massive Daytona International Speedway to the smaller Chicagoland Speedway for the LifeLock.com 400, which goes on Saturday night. Kyle Busch completed a sweep of the weekend with a dominant win in last year’s Sprint Cup race, which starts the second half of the season, and after last week’s heartbreak at Daytona, no one will be thirstier on the track than Busch.
Chicagoland Odds: Busch will cruise to fourth win of the year
- Stewart, Harvick only drivers with multiple wins at Chicagoland
- Harvick’s 7.4 average is tops among active drivers
- Chevy has won five of the seven Sprint Cup races at this track
Points leader Tony Stewart is a co-favorite in your offshore sportsbook with NASCAR odds of +600, and he’s got a solid track record at Chicagoland with six top-fives in eight races, including wins in 2004 and 2007 and a fifth-place run in 2008. Stewart pulled out a thrilling win in last week’s race at Daytona, and he now has an amazing 10 top-fives in the first 18 races of the year.
Jimmie Johnson also has NASCAR odds of +600, and his second-place run here last year was his fifth top-five in seven Chicagoland races. The No.48 driver, who is third in the standings, finished second to Stewart at Daytona, and he now has five top-10s in his last six starts, including a win at Dover.
Busch isn’t far behind at +650, and he managed a 14th-place finish at Daytona after being turned into the wall unintentionally by Stewart, then hit by Kasey Kahne and JGR teammate Joey Logano. The No.18 driver led 165 laps while romping to last year’s win, and his 7.8 average in four Chicagoland races is second among active drivers.
Jeff Gordon has NASCAR odds of +900 with a 2006 win and five top-10s in eight Chicagoland races, but online sportsbook betting players may avoid making the No.24 driver one of their sportsbook picks after last week’s 28th-place run at Daytona, a place where Gordon usually excels. Still, he finished 11th in last year’s Chicagoland race, and it would be a bold player to bet against the No.24 team bouncing back.
If you’re a bettor who likes to take risks, look no further than the No.29 car of Kevin Harvick, who has NASCAR odds of +1800. Harvick won the first two races at Chicagoland in 2001 and 2002, and he finished third to Busch and Johnson last year. Harvick’s 7.4 average in eight races is the best among current drivers, and even though his RCR team is having a nightmare year, all it takes is one race to build some momentum.
LEE-ROY’S PICK: No one drives harder in NASCAR than Kyle Busch, especially when something bad happens to him. He’ll be fired up because of the way that the Daytona race ended, and he’ll have confidence at Chicagoland after not only winning the Nationwide and Cup races, but leaving the competition in his dust. Take Kyle Busch’s sports betting odds to Victory Lane on Saturday night.
