NASCAR Atlanta Odds – Team Hendrick poised for big week
Sportsbook players will break down NASCAR Atlanta odds at a ridiculously fast track. The Kobalt Tools 500 takes place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, which has been said to rival the superspeedways of Daytona and Talladega in terms of pure speed despite being a mile shorter. Kyle Busch is the defending race-winner in this event, but all eyes will be on Hendrick Motorsports, who are off to a wild start this season.

Hendrick will surely have a few drivers near the top of your sports betting odds, such as Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon. These two absolutely love this track, as proven by Johnson’s 8.7 finishing average in seven spring races at Atlanta, which is tops among active drivers, and Gordon isn’t far behind in second at 10.0. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is third at 10.4, while Mark Martin rounds out the Hendrick contingent in 10th place at 14.9, but these two are in need of a big showing after a rough couple of weeks with failing car parts and driver mistakes.
NASCAR Atlanta odds:
- JIMMIE JOHNSON +500
- CARL EDWARDS +500
- KYLE BUSCH +550
- JEFF GORDON +700
- GREG BIFFLE +800
- MATT KENSETH +800
- KURT BUSCH +1500
- TONY STEWART +1800
- DALE EARNHARDT JR +1800
- MARK MARTIN +2000
- DENNY HAMLIN +2000
- KEVIN HARVICK +3000
- FIELD +2200
Busch will also be near the top of the favorites list for this week’s race after another historic performance. Busch won on his hometown track, but he also became the first man to come from the very back of the pack to win. The No. 18 qualified on the pole, but blew an engine in practice, which moved him to the back. However, he’s also being credited as the first driver to win from the pole….all of which is very fitting for the driver who is destined for an assault on the NASCAR record books.
Other drivers who should be online betting underdogs according to this week’s NASCAR betting lines are Tony Stewart, whose 11.1 finishing average in 10 Atlanta spring races is fifth. Clint Bowyer is next at 13.0, and he’ll be boosted by his second-place run at Las Vegas. Carl Edwards is way down the list at 22.5, but his win in the fall Atlanta race could give the No. 99 team some much-needed confidence heading into this week.
It’s so hard to pick against Kyle Busch because, week in and week out, he performs like that race is the Daytona 500 or the race that will decide the championship, so expect him to run up front and lead some laps. Johnson will also be strong here, and he had one of the cars to beat in Vegas before sliding through his pit stall, then wrecking with five laps left after leading a race-high 92 laps. Earnhardt Jr. and Martin will just be aiming to make it through the race with minimal mistakes and a race car in one piece.
LEE-ROY’S PICK: Therefore, bet on Jeff Gordon to carry the Hendrick flag. Gordon nursed a car with no left-front fender to a sixth-place showing and also had a great car all day. With a 44-race winless streak hanging in the balance, make Jeff Gordon your choice when going through your NASCAR Atlanta odds on Sunday.
