NASCAR Las Vegas Odds - Dead heat going into Las Vegas
NASCAR Las Vegas odds don't favor Matt Kenseth, but online sports betting fans have watched him come away with the first two wins of the season, and the 2003 champion will go for three in a row when the Sprint Cup series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Shelby 427. Carl Edwards is the defending champion in this race, but offshore sportsbook odds have Edwards in a three-way tie at the top, while Kenseth lurks in the background.
NASCAR Las Vegas odds: Hamlin a lock for a Top-10 finish
- WHAT: The Shelby 427
- WHEN: Sunday, March 1, 4:30 PM ET
- WHERE: Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Las Vegas, NV
- KEY STATS: Denny Hamlin’s 7.3 finishing average is tops among active drivers
- PICK: Denny Hamlin
Carl Edwards has NASCAR Las Vegas odds of +550, along with Jimmie Johnson and Vegas native Kyle Busch. All three of these drivers have fared very well here, as Johnson is third among active drivers with a 9.3 finishing average, while Edwards is fifth at 11.8, and Busch is seventh at 13.2. Johnson won this race three years in a row before Edwards ended his streak last year.
Kenseth is used to success in the desert as well, as the No. 17 driver’s 9.0 finishing average is second, along with wins in 2003 and 2004. Kenseth will be going for three straight wins to start the season, and he is only the fifth driver in history to begin the campaign with back-to-back wins. He has NASCAR Las Vegas odds of +700. This puts him alongside Jeff Gordon, who finished second to Kenseth last week at California.

Two drivers to watch out for when making your NASCAR Las Vegas betting picks are Greg Biffle at +800 and Jeff Burton at +2500. Biffle has a solid 14.6 finishing average, and he ran well last weekend with a fourth-place result, but his average start is 7.4, meaning he and his team have to get better at making in-race adjustments to the No. 16 car. Meanwhile, Burton would be much better value and, with an average finish of 11.3 and back-to-back wins in 1999 and 2000, the veteran No. 31 driver knows how to get around Las Vegas.
Vegas is known as one of the fastest tracks in the series, and this race should be very exciting as any number of drivers can come away with the checkered flag. Hendrick and Roush-Fenway with both have cars that are capable of winning but, this week, the play is JGR driver Denny Hamlin with NASCAR Las Vegas odds of +1800. Hamlin’s finishing average of 7.3 is tops among active drivers, and he’s never finished outside of the Top-10 at Las Vegas.
LEE-ROY’S PICK: Kyle Busch and 18-year-old Joey Logano are taking most of the attention at JGR, meaning Hamlin, now the veteran of the team, can focus on driving. He ran well at California, finishing sixth. Bet on Denny Hamlin.
