NASCAR Betting - Trucks head to Memphis, Nationwide as Cup does New Hampshire

Posted by Lee-Roy Buckles on 8/25/2009 6:33:47 AM
NASCAR bettingIt’ll be a busy Saturday afternoon for NASCAR betting players as the Camping World Truck Series kicks off the weekend at Memphis Motorsports Park, while the Nationwide drivers will clash at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Finally, the Sprint Cup stars will finish the weekend off in New Hampshire on a track that is just over a mile long.

NASCAR Betting – Short-track racing madness at Memphis and New Hampshire

  • Hornaday Jr. is the king of Memphis ¾-mile track
  • JGR looking for another 1-2-3 finish at New Hampshire
  • Stewart, Busch aiming to tie Burton for most wins in first New Hampshire race

MemphisTravel.com 200 – Saturday, June 27, 2:00 PM ET

Ron Hornaday Jr. won the inaugural Truck race at Memphis in 1998, and he also won last year’s race by leading 139 laps. Hornaday Jr. also took over the points lead with a dominant win at Milwaukee last week on his 51st birthday, which means Matt Crafton, Todd Bodine and Mike Skinner all need good finishes to keep up with him on Saturday. Sportsbooks should figure to make Hornaday Jr. the favorite for this race.

Camping World RV Sales 200 – Saturday, June 27, 2:30 PM ET

Tony Stewart led a Joe Gibbs parade to the checkered flag in the Nationwide New Hampshire race in 2008, as he was followed by teammates Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch. Cup drivers hold the top 10 spots in this race in terms of finishing average, so your offshore sportsbook will probably put one of them as the favorite. Carl Edwards won his first Nationwide race of the year last week at Milwaukee, and last year’s Milwaukee victory sparked an amazing run for the defending series champion.

Lenox Industrial Tools 301 Odds – Sunday, June 28, 12:30 PM ET

Kurt Busch won the first of two Cup races that are held at New Hampshire, as he was in the lead when the rain started to fall with 17 laps to go. Denny Hamlin has the best finishing average among active drivers in this race, but he trails Jimmie Johnson according to sports betting lines. Kasey Kahne won last week’s road race at Sonoma, holding off points leader Tony Stewart - who has two wins in this race - along with Kurt Busch. Jeff Burton leads the way with three victories, but it’ll be a bold man who makes the No.31 driver one of their sports picks this week.
