Angels vs Rangers Odds – Changing of the guards in AL West
Angels vs Rangers odds handicappers were waiting for it to happen and it finally has. The Texas Rangers have come back down to Earth, and so have the Angels. After an uncharacteristically good start by the Rangers and an uncharacteristically bad start by the Angels, online betting sharps know the AL West is back in order now that the Angels are back in front.
Angels vs Rangers odds: Angels hot, Rangers not
- Angels have won 12 of last 15 games; Rangers 3-7 in last 10
- Rangers a good value play on Tuesday night
- Millwood had an ERA of 1.30 in June
Angels vs Rangers odds: Sean O’Sullivan (1-0) vs Vicente Padilla (6-3)
Monday, 8:05 PM ET
Sean O’Sullivan has only made a couple of starts in his young career, but Angels vs Rangers odds handicappers should note that so far, so good. He’s given up just four earned runs in 12 innings pitched, but he did show some nerves in his last start when he gave up two home runs to Colorado.
He’ll square off with Padilla, who has been quite reliable over his last four starts. Angels Rangers odds makers should take notice that Padilla has an ERA of 2.16 and a WHIP of 1.32 while going 3-0 in that span.
Angels vs Rangers odds: Joe Saunders (8-4) vs Scott Feldman (5-2)
Tuesday, 8:05 PM ET
Scott Feldman has been very up-and-down for the Rangers, which makes him hard to rely on for MLB betting fans. In five starts this month, he’s given up varying ranges of runs in each start. He’s allowed zero, two, three, four and five runs in separate starts, which hardly makes him consistent. Even so, he has a WHIP of 1.17, which is surprisingly low considering his ERA is 4.06.
Joe Saunders has been one of the best pitchers in the majors this year, which is why the sportsbook odds makers have the Angels favored. But he’s has been far better at home than away. At home, he’s got an ERA of 2.95 versus away, where it balloons to 4.57. Given the splits, the Rangers might be a good value play in this Tuesday matchup.
Angels vs Rangers odds: Jered Weaver (8-3) vs Kevin Millwood (8-5)
Wednesday, 8:05 PM ET
The two staff aces will go at on Wednesday as Jered Weaver and his sparkling 2.83 ERA will take on Kevin Millwood and his crisp 2.65 ERA. While this type of production was expected from Weaver, nobody thought that the 34-year-old Millwood would be able to keep this up. After posting an ERA of 2.13 in April, a lot of people thought Millwood’s play was leveling off when he posted an ERA of 4.28 in May. But he was even better in June, going 4-1 with a 1.30 ERA and a WHIP of 1.19. People are still waiting for the other shoe to drop, but at this point, you have to trust him.
Angels vs Rangers odds makers will expect a low-scoring affair in this one – even in the high-scoring Ballpark of Arlington.
