Fantasy Baseball Odds – Hot and Not for June 22
It’s important to keep an eye on the fantasy baseball odds and the players who are hot and not right now, especially for online betting purposes. Below is our weekly checkup on who’s hot and who’s not as we enter a new week of fantasy sports betting odds.
Fantasy Baseball Odds: Hot and Not for June 22
- B.J. Upton finally catching fire
- Miguel Cabrera having an MVP season
- Fausto Carmona is struggling badly
WHO’S HOT
1. Ryan Braun, Outfielder, Milwaukee Brewers
(Last Week: .385, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 10 R, 2 SB)
Hard to argue with Ryan Braun at any point but right now he’s really in the zone. Great batting average, solid power, high RBI’s and runs. That’s what most people invested in and that’s what they’re getting over the last week.
2. B.J. Upton, Outfielder, Tampa Bay Rays
(Last Week: .429, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 6 R, 2 SB)
Welcome to the party, B.J. Upton. After hitting .177 in April and .218 in May, Upton has finally woken up over the last week. Sportsbook odds makers had this guy listed as a potential MVP candidate – nice to know he’s finally playing like it.
3. Miguel Cabrera, First Base, Detroit Tigers
(Last Week: .458, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 9 R)
Miguel Cabrera has been outstanding all year long and this past week was just another episode. If he keeps this up and the Tigers improve, he might be an MVP candidate.
TOP WAIVER PICK (Owned in less than 50 per cent of leagues): Luis Valbuena, second baseman/shortstop, Cleveland Indians
(Last Week: .385, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 5 R)
Fantasy baseball odds makers don’t know Luis Valbuena too well, but he’s been on fire this past week. The stats are stellar and he’s owned in just 2% of leagues. Ride him while he plays this well.
WHO’S NOT
1. Dontrelle Willis, Pitcher, Detroit Tigers
(Last 30 Days: 0 W, 22.2 innings pitched, 24 earned runs)
Who needs a pitcher when you’ve got a belly itcher like Willis. He’s now back on the disabled list with recurring anxiety disorder, and fantasy baseball odds makers know that he’s been giving a lot of bettors a similar ailment.
2. Pedro Feliz, Third Baseman, Philadelphia Phillies
(Last Week: 2-for-24, 0 HR, 0 RBI)
The Phillies are already missing one big bat in Ryan Howard, and they may as well be another one short. Feliz couldn’t hit a beach ball with a tennis racket right now.
3. Fausto Carmona, Pitcher, Cleveland Indians
(Last 30 days: 0 W, 7.1 IP, 16 ER)
The former 19 game-winner is getting batted around hardcore right now. His 2007 season is looking more and more like a fluke. He’s just 2-6 on the year.
