Bet MLB Online – Yankees, Indians Look To Open Week In The Win Column
The American League East remains wide open following the Kentucky derby betting weekend, with the New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, and Los Angeles Angels all fighting at the top of their division. The Yankees and Indians will look to open the week with another strong effort at home, while a couple of projected contenders that have been struggling will look to get back on track.
Detroit Tigers @ Toronto Blue Jays
Monday, 7:07 PM ET
The Blue Jays’ hopes for 2011 were heavily reliant on the pending return of Brandon Morrow from injury, and after watching him improve with all three of his starts so far the team is more than confident that they can rely on him. Morrow has allowed three, two, and one earned run totals in his three starts, including leading Toronto to consecutive MLB betting victories. He’ll face a tough matchup against the undefeated Max Scherzer for Detroit, with the 26-year old 5-0 with a 3.15 ERA through seven starts, including pitching eight innings of shutout ball in a 4-0 win over the New York Yankees his last time out. The Tigers have really struggled on the road this season, and will need Scherzer to play his best ball.
MLB Betting Pick: Detroit Tigers
Minnesota Twins @ Boston Red Sox
Monday, 7:10 PM ET
A couple of setbacks have kept the Red Sox from joining the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays at the top of the AL East, and the fans at Fenway are hoping a series against the struggling Twins can help them get over that hump. It won’t be easy if Minnesota starter Francisco Liriano plays as outstanding as he did in his last start, a nine-inning 1-0 shutout win over the Chicago White Sox. Liriano had really struggled with the Twins to that point, and if Boston can get to him early it should be more than enough to rattle his confidence and give ace Jon Lester room to get the job done at home.
MLB Betting Pick: Boston Red Sox
Kansas City Royals @ New York Yankees
Tuesday, 7:05 PM ET
Unlikely heroes have helped the Yankees back to the top of the AL East again this year, and that includes Freddy Garcia on a thin pitching staff that has gotten by with names like Bartolo Colon and AJ Burnett playing solid ball. Garcia had allowed just one earned run through his first three appearances, but has allowed seven runs combined in consecutive losses. If he can get New York into the sixth inning the team will be happy with that, as the Yankees’ bat tee off on Kyle Davies on the other end.
MLB Betting Pick: New York Yankees
Tampa Bay Rays @ Cleveland Indians
Tuesday, 7:05 PM ET
The Indians have been absolutely dominant at home so far this season, but will be in tough against a Tampa Bay group that has played its best ball on the road. That is if Jeff Niemann can put together some consistency to counter Josh Tomlin for Cleveland. Niemann has battled injuries to start the year, while Tomlin hasn’t allowed more than three runs in any of his six sports betting starts, which is enough to give the Indians the edge in this one.
MLB Betting Pick: Cleveland Indians
