The defending World Series champions have started the year slow and trail the Colorado Rockies by a significant margin already, so I will be crucial for them to get going on the road against a Pittsburgh team that hasn’t been great either. The Giants will hand the ball to ace Tim Lincecum on Thursday afternoon, and while he has pitched well early on he will need much more run support to get the job done.
