Brewers Yankees Betting – Brewers Head To Bronx Looking To Make Some Noise Against Yankees
With the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies ranking as the consensus picks to win this year’s World Series, there is an element of respect that plays into the fight that a couple of MLB betting contenders from each league are dealing with. The New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers will meet this week in the middle of their respective battle’s for a division title, and if you ask players from both sides this could be a preview of the 2011 World Series.

Tuesday, 7:05 PM ETWhile the Brewers have looked like a legitimate World Series contender at home this season they have looked lost more often than not on the road, and things won’t get any easier for them when they make the trip to Yankees Stadium. Zach Grienke will look to give them a chance when he takes the mound for the opener after putting together one of his finer performances of the season in a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays, but the man he is going up against has surprisingly been just as good of late. Freddy Garcia has enjoyed a resurgence in New York with a 3.30 ERA, and after going seven strong against the best offense in the majors in a 4-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds in which he didn’t allow an earned run, he has inspired confidence from his teammates.

Wednesday, 7:05 PM ETBrian Gordon might have a little bit tougher of a time inspiring that confidence from his teammates after failing to go more than five innings against that same Reds’ team in a game that he gave up four earned runs against, including three home runs. The Brewers are hoping that will open the door for Shaun Marcum to come in and put together another complete sports betting bonus effort after hip problems have forced him out of the last two starts he’s made early on. Marcum is 7-2 with a 2.95 ERA, and if he can at the least get to the sixth or seventh the offense should be able to do the rest.

Thursday, 1:05 PM ETThe Brewers will turn to another hot arm to close out the series in Randy Wolf, who has combined to allow just three earned runs in his past three starts to bring his ERA down to 3.15 on the year. For as good as AJ Burnett has been compared to a betting year ago he has still been somewhat inconsistent, and with Milwaukee chasing New York for the league lead in home runs that is not a good thing. The Yankees’ offense should be able to do enough to keep this one close but in the end it will be the Brewers that take the series with another strong offensive effort.
