Diamondbacks Brewers Betting – Diamondbacks Look To Emulate Brewers In Early Week Series
The Arizona Diamondbacks head to Milwaukee early next week to take on the Brewers, and they must already be taking notes after watching the National League Central leaders make their move to the top of the division to take over first place ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Diamondbacks are in a similar sort of position as the Brewers were a couple of MLB betting weeks ago, looking up at the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants and looking to close the gap on the road his week.

The Diamondbacks leave Oakland to head straight to Milwaukee and after a long flight in they will have the pleasure of having to find their swing against the Brewers’ best starting pitcher in Shaun Marcum. Marcum is 7-3 on the year with a 3.16 ERA, but has struggled by his standards in recent weeks due to a nagging hip injury that has really affected his delivery. Arizona will hope the injury is still bothering him and send Daniel Hudson to the mound to counter Marcum. Hudson hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in any of his past five starts, registering three of his nine wins over that span.

Milwaukee starter Randy Wolf has struggled with inconsistency all season, but after allowing four earned runs in seven innings of work against the New York Yankees in a 5-0 loss he is due to bounce back and should have every opportunity to against Zach Duke and the Diamondbacks. Duke has been lit up for 13 earned runs over his past three starts, and Milwaukee should be able to provide Wolf with a ton of run support to help get him back on betting track. The Brewers’ offense has thrived on the long ball and has looked good all year, and this is the game where they come alive against the Diamondbacks in front of the hometown crowd.

The rubber match between these two teams will go Wednesday afternoon with the Brewers holding the edge in pitching matchup for what would have been the third straight game if it wasn’t for the injury that has been affecting Marcum. Yovani Gallardo gets the call against young Josh Collmenter and while the latter hasn’t been awful, he certainly hasn’t been as good as Gallardo so far this sports betting bonus season. Gallardo is 9-4 with a 3.92 ERA, and allowed just one earned run in an 11-1 win over the Minnesota Twins the last time that he was on the mound. The Brewers will take the finale of the three game set to clinch the series and keep pace with the Cardinals in the NL Central, while Arizona continues to look up at the defending World Series champions.
