Dodgers vs Giants Odds - Giants cut into Dodgers' NL West lead
After being the MLB betting darlings of the first half, the Dodgers have struggled after the break. San Francisco will look to extend their rivals’ three-game losing skid when they open up a three-game set at AT&T Park, and with a 5.5-game deficit, the Giants will take advantage of a slumping Los Angeles team.

Hiroki Kuroda (4-5, 4.44) vs Jonathan Sanchez (5-9, 4.49)
Kuroda broke a string of four straight no-decisions in a 17-4 rout of Milwaukee, and he hasn’t allowed more than three runs in any of his last five starts. The 34-year-old righthander has never beaten the Giants, going 0-1 in four outings with a 4.79 ERA, while San Francisco has hit .310 off of him. Sanchez tossed eight scoreless innings in an 8-1 romp in Houston, his best showing since his no-hitter in July. He’s 0-1 in two starts against the Dodgers this season with a 4.50 ERA, dropping his career numbers against them to 0-2 in eight appearances (five starts) and a 5.02 ERA. Baseball lines are backing Los Angeles on the road, but give the betting edge to Sanchez, who is much better at home that he is on the road.

Randy Wolf (5-6, 3.55) vs Joe Martinez (2-0, 5.87)
Wolf gave up three runs in his lone start against the Giants this year, but none of them were earned, and the no-decision took his record to 6-4 in 14 starts against San Francisco with a 3.44 ERA. Martinez is making the second start (and fourth appearance) of his young career, and his first at home, which could make for some nerves. Martinez’s inexperience could make the Giants an underdog in your sportsbook, and given Wolf’s strong play on the road (4-4 in 12 starts, a 3.04 ERA), look for the Dodgers to take this one.

Chad Billingsley (11-6, 3.73) vs Tim Lincecum (12-3, 2.20)
Billingsley’s got a bad hamstring, which could cause him to miss this start. That would be a shame as the 24-year-old righthander is 1-1 in three starts against the Giants in 2009, posting a 2.53 ERA. That loss was his first against the Giants, as he is now 4-1 in 13 outings (nine starts) and a 3.28 ERA. The Dodgers will need all the help they can get as they’ve never beat Lincecum, who is 3-0 in five outings (four starts) against the Dodgers with a 2.70 ERA. At home, you’d be hard-pressed to even score against the reigning Cy Young winner as he is a blistering 7-1 in 12 starts at AT&T Park with a 1.97 ERA. Even if Billingsley makes the start, he’ll be at less than 100%, and his replacement won’t fare much better anyway. Take San Francisco’s sports betting lines.
