Dodgers vs Rockies Odds - Red-hot Rockies close gap on Dodgers
2009 MLB betting players remember Colorado’s stunning run to the World Series in 2007, and the Rockies look like they might do it again as they begin a three-game series at Chase Field against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who lead them by three in the NL West. The Rockies have won 15 of their 22 games in August, and they’ll take advantage of a slumping Dodgers club.
Dodgers vs Rockies Odds: NL West race tightening up
- Fatigue may be setting in for Kershaw
- Wolf earns another valuable road win for Dodgers
- De La Rosa hands Padilla a losing debut in Dodger blue

Clayton Kershaw (8-7, 2.96) vs Jason Hammel (8-7, 4.54) The Dodgers’ 21-year-old southpaw hasn’t won in five starts, and again, his control is affecting his pitch counts: in his last outing against St. Louis, he lasted just 3.2 innings, but tossed 97 pitches. He also hasn’t been getting run support, as the Dodgers have scored more than three runs just once in his last six starts. He’s 1-1 in three starts against the Rockies with a 6.89 ERA in 2009, but some wonder if he’s fatiguing late in the season. Hammel has won three of his last four starts, but he’s returning to Coors Field, where he’s 2-3 in 11 outings (10 starts) with a miserable 7.02 ERA, and the opposition is hitting .379 off him. The posted total for these Dodgers vs Rockies odds is 9.5 in your sportsbook, and this has the makings of a duel, or a shootout. Look for Hammel to be much better at home. MLB betting pick: Rockies

Randy Wolf (8-6, 3.34) vs Josh Fogg (0-1, 2.25) The 33-year-old Wolf has been a veteran stabilizer for the slumping Dodgers, and he tossed a one-hitter over seven innings in a 2-1 win over the Cubs, winning his third straight outing. Wolf has a pair of no-decisions against the Rockies with a 3.75 ERA, and he may be the online betting favorite against Fogg, who is making his first start of the season after 20 appearances out of the bullpen. He’s hurled two scoreless innings against the Dodgers in 2009, but I’m giving the nod in these Dodgers vs Rockies odds to Wolf, who has a 6-4 mark in 11 road outings with a 2.91 ERA as a full-year starter. MLB betting pick: Dodgers

Vicente Padilla (8-6, 4.92) vs Jorge De La Rosa (12-8, 4.76) Padilla should be making his Los Angeles debut since joining the team from Texas, and he returns to the National League after a 3.5-year absence. His last start came in Oakland on August 5th, and he was tagged for six runs on seven hits and was taken deep three times in a 7-5 loss. The 31-year-old righthander has pitched in Coors Field four times, including one start, and he’s 0-1 with an ERA of 6.00. De La Rosa is 3-1 in four August starts this season despite a 5.18 ERA. He gave up six in six innings, but was bailed out by his offense in a 14-11 victory over San Francisco. The 28-year-old southpaw is 0-1 in a pair of starts against the Dodgers, giving up seven runs in 8.2 innings of work. With Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee available at the trade deadline, but ending up with Padilla, did the Dodgers really help their sports betting odds? MLB betting pick: Rockies
