Giants vs Dodgers Odds - San Fran won’t score enough to keep pace with Dodgers
The Giants vs Dodgers odds represent gut check time for San Francisco. The Giants are still in the National League Wildcard race, down three and a half games to Colorado, but they have to string some wins together fast. A matchup in Los Angeles is a tough MLB betting test; the Giants have to earn their way into the postseason.
Giants vs Dodgers Odds: Dodgers have repaired their starting rotation
- Somehow, Vicente Padilla is good at baseball again
- Brad Penny has been revelation for the Giants
- O-Dog, Pierre will keep Lincecum in check
Tonight, 10:10 p.m. ET
Giants vs Dodgers odds: Jonathan Sanchez (6-12, 4.16) vs Vicente Padilla (3-0, 2.01)
What the -- Vicente? Is that you? Weren’t you supposed to be crappy and washed up? For whatever reason, things have clicked for Padilla since the Dodgers scooped him up. He even shut the Giants out for six innings last week and he’s given us no reason not to trust the NL version of him. Jonathan Sanchez could be in trouble. The Dodgers rocked him last week and that was at home, where he’s supposed to be good. Now he faces L.A. again on the road, where he’s 2-9 this season. It makes no sense to back San Francisco tonight. Giants vs Dodgers Betting Edge: Dodgers

Giants vs Dodgers odds: Brad Penny (3-0, 1.64) vs Jon Garland (10-11, 4.19)
What’s with all the castaway pitchers excelling on their new teams? Brad Penny and Jon Garland both apply to that rule and Penny in particular seems to be on a mission. He’s won every start since returning to the National League and beaten two first-place lineups along the way, including the Dodgers. Garland has been effective two but Penny’s stuff is pretty unhittable when he’s on. Pick the Giants. Giants vs Dodgers Betting Edge: Giants

Giants vs Dodgers odds: Tim Lincecum (14-5, 2.30) vs Randy Wolf (10-6, 3.24)
Wow. Tim Lincecum’s last three starts were against Colorado, Philadelphia and Colorado. In that span, he allowed three runs and struck out 30 in 22 innings. The man is a monster. Randy Wolf continues to be one of the NL’s most underappreciated pitchers; he has a 2.95 ERA since the All-Star break and has shown impeccable control while still missing bats. As much as it makes sense to bet on the Giants whenever Lincecum pitches, it’s tough to ignore Wolf’s numbers against San Francisco. He has a 0.64 ERA against them this season and no current Giant regular has a homer off him – ever. Lincecum should sparkle but he struggles against some Dodger starters – Orlando Hudson (.438 lifetime against him) and Juan Pierre (.500). That could be the difference. Bet under the total in your online betting and pick the Dodgers. Giants vs Dodgers Betting Edge: Dodgers
