Internet Baseball Betting – Braves, Giants Aim To Get Back On Track Before Falling Too Far Back
As the countdown to the 2011 Kentucky derby betting race continues, a couple of teams in the National League that were projected to compete for division titles remain struggling with mediocrity. The Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, and San Francisco Giants will all have the chance to get their seasons back on track this week before the opening leg of the Triple Crown, and now is the time to do it before they lose too much ground in their respective divisions. Here is a look at some key NL games for this Wednesday.
Washington Nationals @ Philadelphia Phillies
Wednesday, 7:05 PM ET
With the deepest and most talented starting rotation in the NL the Phillies have set themselves on course for another division title, and it seems as though the confidence at the top has trickled through the bullpen and to some of the other young starters on the club. One of those players is 23-year old Vance Worley, who went six innings of shutout ball with five strikeouts in a 10-3 win over the New York Mets in his only start so far this season. Philadelphia will turn to Worley against Nationals’ starter Jason Marquis, and will need him to be at his best to keep them in it. Marquis went the distance in a 3-0 shutout complete game win over the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants in his last outing to improve to 3-0, and should give the Phillies all kinds of MLB betting trouble.
MLB Betting Pick: Washington Nationals
Milwaukee Brewers @ Atlanta Braves
Wednesday, 7:10 PM ETAn improved pitching staff was supposed to make the difference for the Brewers in the AL Central this season, and one reason that hasn’t happened so far is the fact that Zach Grienke hasn’t made a start so far. That will change on Wednesday when Grienke makes his Brewers’ debut against Tim Hudson and a talented Braves’ team, and he will need to have his best stuff. It may take a couple of games before he gets going, and Atlanta should be able to have their way with him in this online sports betting outing.
MLB Betting Pick: Atlanta Braves
San Francisco Giants @ New York Mets
Wednesday, 7:10 PM ETThe defending World Series champions have opened the year below .500 and will have a tough time getting back on track if they can’t find a way to put up more runs. That’s something that hasn’t been a problem for the Mets in recent weeks, although they remain at the bottom of the NL East. The Giants will have every opportunity to win this one with Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum on the mound, but after combining to score just two runs in consecutive losses for him in his last two starts the offense still needs to be better. That shouldn’t be a problem against Chris Capuano and his 6.04 ERA.
MLB Betting Pick: San Francisco Giants
