Online Baseball Betting – Five Teams That Need To Make A Move For The Fall

Online betting players always know when trade deadline day is coming up in their favorite sport, and baseball betting fans will have their ears to the ground to see if their team is going to make a move for the World Series. Here are five teams that aren’t that far away from making a push after watching the first two months of the season.
Los Angeles Angels – Slugger
The Angels were set with Kendry Morales, the big first-baseman who was off to a great start with a .290 average, 11 homers and 39 RBIs, but a freak fractured ankle while celebrating a walk-off grand slam has left the Angels high and dry. Morales may be able to come back, but not until September, which means Los Angeles may have to go hunting for a big bat. What makes it worse is that they let Vladdy Guerrero walk in the offseason, and he’s currently heating it up for Texas, who is the biggest threat to the Angels’ reign in the American League East. Their best options would seem to be Jermaine Dye or Carlos Delgado, who are both free agents, while Paul Konerko of the White Sox is also a target.
New York Mets – Long relief
The Mets are 23rd in the majors in holds with 18, and if you haven’t noticed, their rotation is a mess: only Mike Pelfrey and Johan Santana have made at least 10 starts for the Mets, and Pelfrey has been the team’s ace with a 7-1 mark with a 2.54 ERA. Long relief is very important to the Mets if they want to keep up Philadelphia and Atlanta in the National League East, unless they want to splash for a big-name starter like Seattle’s Cliff Lee. Speaking of Lee…...
Los Angeles Dodgers – Starter
The Dodgers were in the hunt for either Lee or Toronto’s Roy Halladay during last year’s stretch run, and came up empty on both counts. With Halladay firmly entrenched in Philadelphia, throwing perfect games, you can safely wager that teams will be approaching Seattle to improve their MLB betting odds as the Mariners aren’t too keen on paying Lee what wants when his contract is up after this season. The Dodgers have 26 quality starts as Clayton Kershaw hasn’t been as electric as last year, and while Chad Billingsley is pitching well now, we all witness his terrible second half in 2009 when he was banished to the bullpen for the playoffs.
Boston Red Sox – Starter
But this is probably where Lee will end up at some point. The Boston rotation has been up and down to start the year, with Josh Beckett joining Daisuke Matsuzaka on the disabled listed after being woefully ineffective. Clay Buchholz has carried the staff, paying the organization back for their stubbornness when they wouldn’t package the 25-year-old righthander in a deal for Halladay or Lee. But somehow, someway, the Red Sox need a starter to keep up with the New York Yankees, Tampa Bay and even Toronto….and that’s just in their division.
Tampa Bay Rays – Slugger
The Rays look to be set with pitching, both in the rotation and in the bullpen, so the attention switches to the offense, where Tampa Bay isn’t known as a long-ball team. Carlos Pena is off to a tough start, while Ben Zobrist is hitting for average, but he has gone deep just twice. B.J. Upton has been all over the place at the plate, and yet, the Rays are still competing with the Yankees at the top of the American League East. So do the Rays roll the dice and try to get a big bat like Konerko? Tampa Bay’s style has never been to overpower you, but we’re seen what the Yankees, and even the Red Sox have done with sluggers in the American League. They’ve been known to be unconventional before, so don’t be surprised if the Rays move for a home-run hitter to boost their sports betting odds this summer.
