Phillies Mariners Betting – Mariners Hold On As Phillies March Into Town Looking To Force The Issue In Interleague Play
After falling just short of the World Series for the first time in three seasons a year ago, the Philadelphia Phillies have loaded up again for another run and it looks as though they have the horses to get there again. The Phillies lead the league in wins heading into more interleague play this weekend, and will look to take full advantage of a Seattle Mariners’ team that has struggled with consistency in a three-game MLB betting set at Safeco Field.

The Phillies extended their winning streak to six ahead of their final game before a series against Seattle, and will look to keep that momentum going with a more focused effort on the road. Roy Oswalt will get the call for Philadelphia in the opener, and as long as he can perform around his ERA mark for the season he should be able to pick up a win. The Mariners have had a ton of problems on offense until only recently and if Oswalt can get his stuff on the mark in the early innings it could really hurt the confidence of the Seattle order. Michael Pineda will get the call for the Mariners, but despite a solid ERA the team in winless through his last three sports betting bonus starts.

The pitching matchup will swing in Seattle’s favor for Saturday when they send reigning Cy Young winner Felix Hernandez to the mound to take on Vance Worley for the Phillies. While his numbers aren’t the same as they were an online sports betting year ago, Hernandez has been dominant at points and after struggling in his last two outings he should be able to get up for this contest against one of the best teams in baseball. Worley is still ripe at 23-years old, and isn’t ready to stand up and take down one of the elite pitchers in the game just yet.

While the majority of the attention on the Phillies’ pitching staff has been on the return of Cliff Lee and the Cy Young performance from Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels should see his bulk of the credit to for his outstanding play so far this season. Hamels is 9-2 with a 2.49 ERA and hasn’t lost a game since early May. The 27-year old is in the prime of his career and has lowered his ERA to just 2.49 with a combined two earned runs allowed in his past three starts, and should have no problem working his way through the Seattle order to help the Phillies clinch the series. Jason Vargas has allowed eight runs combined in his last two outings, and it’s hard to think he will be able to bounce back against the best team in baseball in the weekend finale.
