Rangers Braves Betting – Rangers Look To Get Back On Track This Weekend In Atlanta
Two of the top contenders in baseball will enter their weekend series on the heels of an extended winning streak, looking to rebound in another interleague play MLB betting showdown. The Atlanta Braves opened the week with three straight losses, and will look to make up for that skid by stringing together a couple of wins. It won’t be easy against the defending American League champions though, as the Braves will have to keep down a Texas Rangers’ unit that has lost four straight.

They should have a good shot in the opener with Tommy Hanson on the mound to battle with Colby Lewis, a pitching matchup that should heavily favor the Braves. Hanson is 8-4 this online sports betting season with a 2.48 ERA, and has allowed just five earned runs over his past four starts. Compare that to Lewis, who has allowed 15 earned runs combined through his past two starts and it is easy to see why Texas could be in trouble. Some feel as though the Atlanta offense has underachieved to this point in the season, and this might be the perfect opportunity to get going.

The Rangers will bounce back in game two with their backs against the wall and the Seattle Mariners pressing in the AL West, getting to Derek Lowe to make sure that they don’t concede the series in two games. Lowe is 36-years old and has been inconsistent this season so it is hard to project that he will do well against a lineup as talented as Texas, while Matt Harrison has been too good for the Rangers of late to ignore. Harrison has allowed a combined four earned runs in his past four starts to get his ERA down to 3.31, and the Rangers will need him to continue to bring his best stuff.

Alex Ogando had been an animal for Texas all season before the New York Yankees got to him for six earned runs in less than two innings in his last sports betting bonus appearance, but there is no reason to think that the 27-year old won’t bounce back with a better effort against the Braves. Ogando’s ERA rose from 2.10 to 2.71 after the blowout loss, and that has to be considered when compared to Jair Jurrjens’ 2.13 mark on the year. Jurrjens allowed a season-high four runs in his last outing against the New York Mets, but he has yet to suffer the kind of meltdown that Ogando had against New York and the Rangers have the power to make that happen.
