Rockies Giants Betting – Giants Continue Home Dominance Over Rockies In NL West Clash
San Francisco surprised many online betting players by winning the National League West last year, and they continued to overcome the odds all the way to the World Series. The Giants are now facing a battle in the West, and one of the ways they can stay in it is to protect their home field. Colorado has had problems in San Francisco recently, and the Giants will take advantage of that this weekend.

Friday, 10:15 PM ET – Juan Nicasio vs. Matt Cain
Nicasio (1-0, 0.00) was great in his MLB debut against St. Louis, allowing a run on six hits over seven innings, along with two strikeouts and two walks in a 15-4 romp. That should be enough to keep in the rotation for a start or two as Jorge De La Rosa is out for the season due to Tommy John surgery. Cain (3-4, 3.88) has dropped two starts in a row, giving up nine earned runs in his last 12 innings of work, but he’s been pretty good against the Rockies in his career, going 11-7 in 24 starts with a 3.25 ERA. He’s 0-1 against the Rockies in two outings this year.
Still, Nicasio’s inexperience will be one of the reasons that the Rockies will be underdogs on the road at AT&T Park, where they were 4-6 in their last 10 trips heading into this series, with nine of those games falling under the posted total. The Giants swept the Rockies at home in early May, and they’ll make it six straight wins at home against Colorado as Cain looks to bounce back from a rough month.

Saturday, 4:10 PM ET – Jhoulys Chacin vs. Madison Bumgarner
Chacin (5-4, 3.33) may be the Colorado ace now as De La Rosa is gone, and Ubaldo Jimenez isn’t living up to his potential as an MLB betting favorite for the Cy Young award. Chacin has dropped his last two starts, allowing nine runs 13 innings, and he has been taken deep three times in those two games. He’s 2-1 in four outings against the Giants with a 2.14 ERA, and the 23-year-old tossed a one-hitter over seven innings of a 4-1 win in his lone trip to San Francisco, which came last year.
Bumgarner (2-6, 3.66) has pitched better than his record indicates as he’s fourth-worst in the National League in terms of run support. He has won two of his last three starts, and he’s going for his first win in four starts against the Rockies, posting an 0-2 mark with a 3.52 ERA. If he gets some run support, Bumgarner can win a game for you, but Chacin seems to have the Giants’ number, and that will earn the Rockies the win in the second game of this weekend set.
Rockies Giants Betting Pick: Colorado
Sunday, 4:05 PM ET – Jason Hammel vs. Ryan Vogelsong
Hammel (3-5, 3.89) is in a slump after dropping four of his last six starts, failing to register a win since April 30th, and he’s 0-2 in seven career starts against the Giants, posting a 3.46 ERA. He has solid splits at AT&T Park, going 0-1 in four starts with a 2.66 ERA, and Hammel is 1-1 in five road starts in 2011 with a 3.48 ERA, which is better than his 4.23 ERA at Coors Field this season.
Vogelsong (3-1, 1.77) is making a case to stay in the rotation when Barry Zito comes back from the disabled list, and even though he earned a loss in his last start, the 33-year-old righty has given up a single earned run in his last four starts. He is 1-0 in six appearances against the Rockies with an ERA of 2.40, but only one of those six outings have been a start, and that was a one-hit performance over 6.1 innings of work in a 3-0 shutout at home on May 8th. Look for him to continue his fine form to lead the Giants to a victory in your sports betting book.
