Rockies vs Giants Odds - Plenty of fight still left in Giants
The Rockies vs Giants odds are a crucial rematch of last week’s battle, only now the series shifts to San Francisco. The Rockies opened up a lead on the Giants for the NL Wild Card only to stumble in their last two games, so the Giants can climb back into the race with a strong showing. They’re 41-21 at home, so the Rockies have big sportsbook odds to beat.

Rockies vs Giants odds: Ubaldo Jimenez (12-9, 3.36) vs Tim Lincecum (12-4, 2.43) For the second time in a week, Jimenez and Lincecum face off. Last week, Jimenez edged out Tiny Tim, whiffing nine Giants over eight innings in a 4-2 win. He and the Rockies will be underdogs tonight but could make for good picks. Jimenez has held the Giants to a .208 average over 22 innings this season and is 6-0 since the All-Star break. Lincecum may be tiring, allowing eight runs and walking eight over his last 13 innings. Even though he’s a beast at home in 2009 (7-1), several of the Rockies have his number historically, especially Chris Iannetta (.600), Todd Helton (.533) and Seth Smith (.429). As far as underdog picks go, the Rockies are as good as it gets tonight. Rockies vs Giants Betting Edge: Rockies

Rockies vs Giants odds: Jason Marquis (14-8, 3.47) vs Barry Zito (8-11, 4.09) He’s not flashy, but Jason Marquis keeps getting it done for Colorado. He’s 8-4 on the road and sports a 2.74 ERA in two starts against San Fran this season. But before you MLB betting fans rush to pick Colorado, check out Barry Zito’s numbers. Zito is regaining his form of several season ago, sporting a 2.06 ERA since the All-Star break. He’s also tossed 13 scoreless innings against Colorado this season. He dominates the Rockies like few other pitchers and San Francisco is thus an excellent pick Saturday night. Rockies vs Giants Betting Edge: Giants

Rockies vs Giants odds: Jason Hammel (8-7, 4.43) vs Matt Cain (12-4, 2.39) Matt Cain hasn’t won since July 24, but it’s not really his fault. He has a 2.39 ERA since the All-Star break but his run support has suddenly reverted to what it was in past years when he couldn’t buy a victory. The numbers don’t tell us that Jason Hammel is a pushover; he’s actually pitched well against the Giants in his career and shut them out in his lone start at AT&T Park. However, this is one of those rare occasions when it’s best to look past the stats. Matt Cain is simply a better pitcher than Hammel and his team needs a win. He’ll find a way to keep the Rockies off the board. Bet on the Giants. Rockies vs Giants Betting Edge: Giants
MLB betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick As the online betting season progresses, it’s becoming apparent that neither the Rockies nor the Giants are going anywhere in the Wildcard race. They both seem poised to contend right down to the final week of the season, so it won’t come as a surprise that this series breaks down 2-1. DALE’S PICK: Giants to win two of three
