White Sox vs Twins Odds - Why Chicago will sweep Minnesota
The White Sox vs Twins odds put all the pressure on Minnesota. Whereas the White Sox have fought hard to climb back into the AL Central race against the Detroit Tigers, the Twins have wilted and are in danger of sliding out of contention altogether. It’s time for them to put up or shut up in this crucial MLB betting matchup.
White Sox vs Twins Odds: Entire Twins rotation is slumping
- Picking Glen Perkins is akin to burning money right now
- Keep riding the Mark Buehrle train
- Sox have Francisco Liriano’s number
Tonight, 8:10 p.m. ET
John Danks (8-6, 3.98) vs Glen Perkins (5-6, 5.55)
Entering tonight’s White Sox vs Twins odds, it’s hard to know which version of John Danks we’ll see. Will it be the power lefty who posted sub-3.00 ERAs in April and June, or the erratic guy who’s walked eight batters over his last two starts?
Luckily for Danks and the power-hitting White Sox, Glen Perkins can’t get a little leaguer out these days. He allowed eight earned runs in one inning last time out and the White Sox pounded him at the Metrodome on July 11. Chicago’s White Sox vs Twins odds look solid, even if Danks isn’t on.
MLB betting pick: White Sox

Mark Buehrle (11-3, 3.28) vs Scott Baker (8-7, 5.04)
Let’s set the over/under for total walks between both starters at 0.5. Control freak Mark Buehrle, fresh off his perfect game, faces equally accurate hurler Scott Baker. The latter of the two has won six of his last seven decisions but the Chi-Sox really have his number in 2009, scoring nine runs off him in 11 innings.
Like Baker, Buehrle is allowing more homers than normal this season, but he’s allowed three or fewer runs in six of seven starts. There’s no point betting against anyone as hot as him.
MLB betting pick: White Sox

Bartolo Colon (3-6, 4.19) vs Francisco Liriano (4-10, 5.56)
What a frustrating trip it’s been for Francisco Liriano, the Twins, his fantasy baseball owners and offshore sportsbook bettors. Liriano has allowed 18 homers in 20 starts this season after allowing 20 total jacks in his first 48 career outings. Though his schedule has been vicious – his last starts came against the Angels, Rangers, Yankees, Tigers, Cardinals and Brewers – he simply hasn’t matched his pre-surgery form. It’s hard to imagine him succeeding against a Chicago team that rocked him for 12 runs over 8.2 innings in two outings this season already.
Meanwhile, Bartolo Colon shut out the Twins for six innings in Minnesota earlier this year and doesn’t have to worry about many bats besides Joe Mauer’s and Justin Morneau’s. The White Sox will bust out the broom on Wednesday.
MLB betting pick: White Sox
