World Series Betting – Giants One Win Away From Fall Classic Win
Online betting players figured that pitching was going to play a major role in this year’s World Series betting matchup between San Francisco and the Texas Rangers, and they were right: there have been two shutouts through the first four games of the World Series, and they’re both by the same team, and this club is one win away from a big win.
The San Francisco Giants romped through the first two games of the series at home, as they knocked around Texas ace Cliff Lee in an 11-7 win in Game 1, even though the Giants’ Tim Lincecum didn’t have his best stuff either. The Giants then rolled to a 9-0 win in Game 2 behind another brilliant performance from Matt Cain. The Rangers showed some life in Game 3 with a 4-2 victory, with Josh Hamilton hammering his first homer of the World Series, but the Giants came back for a 4-0 blanking of the Rangers on Sunday night behind the arm of Madison Bumgarner.
Edgar Renteria, Aubrey Huff and Andres Torres have all been great at the plate throughout the Fall Classic, but Juan Uribe may be the biggest surprise for betting players as he has a homer and five RBIs so far. The relief pitching has been superb for San Francisco as Cain was the only starter who brought his “A” game.
The Texas bats have gone quiet, from Hamilton all the way down. Hamilton and Mitch Moreland have both gone deep, but as a team the Rangers have hit .211 in this World Cup betting matchup. Colby Lewis did his thing in his start, but the rest of the Texas pitching staff has struggled from the starters to the rotation.
Game 5 goes on Monday night at 7:57 PM ET at the Ballpark in Arlington, and World Series betting players will see a rematch of the aces from Game 1 when Lee and Lincecum go head-to-head, and we’ll be hoping that this matchup is better than the last one when they both got hit. This will be Lincecum’s first game in the Ballpark, but he also pitched a decent game in Philadelphia during the NLCS, when the Giants edged the Phillies 4-3.
This will be Lee’s first time pitching at home during this entire postseason: all four of his starts have come on the road, and he’s going to be eager to put on a show. The Rangers enter this World Series betting matchup as -170 favorites, while the Giants come in as +160 with a posted total of 6.5, and it should be a low-scoring affair.
If the Rangers manage to come away with the win on Monday night, Game 6 will go in San Francisco on Wednesday night, and a Game 7 would also be at AT&T Park on Thursday night, with both games going at 7:57 PM ET. Keep an eye on Monday night’s matchup. Even if you’re not a sports betting player, you could see a classic between Lee and Lincecum.
