Jered Weaver owns a 2.10 earned-run average and has been downright filthy. New York’s starting pitcher in this contest, Ivan Nova, holds a 4.67 earned-run average. This is a clear pitching mismatch, so there’s no reason to beat around the bush. The Angels are well-positioned to get off to a good start in this series.

New York’s bats will relish the chance to swing at Santana’s offerings after facing Weaver and Haren on previous nights. The Yankees will bust loose and take Sunday’s game.
