Yankees Indians Betting – Indians Try To Get Back At Yankees
The New York Yankees swept the Cleveland Indians earlier this season in New York. Now, as the teams reunite in Cleveland, the Tribe is under pressure to make something happen.

The community of MLB baseball betting pundits is salivating in advance of this Independence Day series matching teams that reside at the top of their respective divisions. The environment will be more than mellow when the A.L. East-leading New York Yankees visit the A.L. Central-leading Cleveland Indians.
If you’re looking to make a wise sports betting play when the Pinstripes travel to Progressive Field in the northeastern corner of the state of Ohio, you should definitely expect the Yankees to win the series. It all starts with Monday’s matchup in part one of this three-game set. A.J. Burnett, the Yanks’ starter in this game, has a 4.05 earned-run average. The thing to realize about Burnett, one of the more talented pitchers in the sport, is that while he is prone to really bad starts now and then, he can deliver a big game at a moment’s notice, using his long wingspan to get great torque and velocity on his pitches. Burnett always has the ability to confound opposing hitters with considerable stuff. The Indians have scuffled over the past month, treading water and failing to produce with the regularity they demonstrated in the first month and a half of the season, when they raced to a big lead over the Detroit Tigers. That lead is now down to a game (the Tigers actually had led the Tribe by percentage points on a few occasions over the past week, an indication of how far the Indians fell in the larger scheme of things). Burnett is up against Cleveland starter Josh Tomlin, who has a 3.86 earned-run average but will be hard-pressed to deal with a Yankee lineup that knows how to work counts and get on base. The thing to realize is that Cleveland’s starting pitching needs to be a lot better than the Yankees’ pitching in order for the Indians to have a really good chance. This matchup does not reflect such a substantial difference, and that’s why one should pick the Yankees in game one.

A sensible sports bet on this game has to go with the Yankees, and it really shouldn’t be a source of worry when one considers a betting play on this game. Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco’s earned-run average is 3.54, while Yankee starter C.C. Sabathia’s earned-run average is 3.25. Carrasco is a quality starter, but Sabathia is in another league, certainly in high-profile series such as this one. Trusting Sabathia is a very good proposition for the serious MLB betting player.

The Indians could avoid a sweep and leave this three-game set with a win by taking the Wednesday finale. The probable pitchers are Ivan Nova (4.26 ERA) for New York and Justin Masterson (2.98 ERA) for Cleveland. This is the one pitching matchup in which the Tribe clearly has the better starter and can be expected to outperform the Yankees over nine innings. There are no sure bets in baseball, but this is the game in which Cleveland has the best chance to win. Pick the Indians here, but not on Monday or Tuesday.
