Yankees Reds Betting – Yankees Continue Interleague Play In Cincinnati Against Reds
After wrapping up their weekend series in the Windy City, the New York Yankees will head north to take on the Cincinnati Reds in a battle of two playoff contenders looking for that edge to boost them into the top spot in their respective MLB betting divisions. The Yankees will have a hard time fending off the Boston Red Sox in what has long been recognized as the toughest division in baseball, but things aren’t any easier in Cincinnati as they look to defend their AL Central title against the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals.

The Reds will look to open the series on a high note with ace Johnny Cueto getting the start against a talented New York order that is capable of making a lot of pitchers look bad. Cueto is 4-2 on the year with a 1.68 ERA, and he hasn’t allowed an earned run in each of his past two starts. Cincinnati will need their leading man to be at his best again, with the Yankees turning to Ivan Nova to try and keep them in it. The Reds have led the majors in runs scored to this point in the season, and that will be a tough sports betting test for Nova and his 4.46 ERA.

After he carried himself well in his first start of the season, the Yankees will turn back to reliever Brian Gordon to make another against Cincinnati. Gordon allowed two runs in just over five innings of work in a 3-2 win over the Texas Rangers, and manager Joe Girardi is hoping that he can keep up with Reds’ starter Travis Wood. Wood has been very good in his last two outings but at the same time very inconsistent this season, and he will likely struggle against one of the better offenses in the league. The Yankees lead the majors in home runs by a large margin, and they should be able to give Gordon enough run support to get back in the sports betting bonus win column.

After splitting the first two games, the Reds will look to Mike Leake to keep his hot streak going against Freddy Garcia for the Yankees. Leake is undefeated since mid-May, leading Cincinnati to five straight wins over that span. Although he has pitched a pedestrian 4.06 ERA, Leake has gotten a ton of run support and that could continues against an inconsistent pitcher in Garcia. Garcia has allowed at least three earned runs in three of his past four starts, and that trend should continue against one of the most powerful offenses in the majors as the Reds take the series at home.
