Rangers vs Giants Odds - Pitching, homefield will trump hitting in San Fran
San Francisco has been one of the biggest MLB betting surprises in the early part of the season, and it’s due to a solid mix of youth and experience on the pitching staff alongside a 21-12 record at AT&T Park. The Giants welcome Texas to town this weekend, and the slugging Rangers will be left scratching their heads by the end of the weekend.
Rangers Giants odds: Even with no Lincecum, Giants still have the betting edge
- Surprising Feldman takes on the “Big Unit”
- Cain looks to continue phenomenal season
- Millwood won’t be great, but Zito should be awful

Scott Feldman (5-1, 3.70) vs Randy Johnson (6-5, 4.89)
The 26-year-old Feldman is looking solid in his second full year as a starter in the big leagues, and he took a no-decision by tossing a three-hitter over five innings of a 3-1 loss to the Dodgers, throwing only 57 pitches because of a rain delay. He’s only pitched 1.2 relief innings against the Giants, posting a 5.40 ERA, but he’s also 4-0 on the road this year with a 3.51 ERA. Johnson is being watched carefully by the Giants, as the 45-year-old “Big Unit” went seven innings for the first time in over a month to earn the win in a 5-2 win over Oakland, giving up a pair of runs on four hits. Johnson has a solid 16-5 record in 32 career starts against the Rangers, and he’s also got a 5-2 mark at AT&T Park this year, which should sway the vote of online sports wagering players making their baseball picks.

Derek Holland (1-4, 6.63) vs Matt Cain (9-1, 2.38)
Holland, a 22-year-old rookie southpaw, has been bouncing between the rotation and the bullpen while he gets used to the majors. He dropped his third consecutive decision in a 6-3 loss to the Dodgers, allowing four runs on five hits over five innings, along with four walks and two strikeouts. But to be fair, the Rangers aren’t giving him much help: Texas has scored 13 runs in his last five starts. Meanwhile, Cain is stealing some of the thunder from teammate Tim Lincecum, the defending Cy Young winner, as he won his seventh straight decision in a 7-1 rout of the Athletics. The 24-year-old righthander tossed his third complete game of the year, scattering a run on four hits to go with a season-high nine strikeouts. At home, Cain is as good as it gets, posting a 5-1 record in seven starts with a 2.66 ERA. Meanwhile, Holland is 1-3 on the road with an 8.83 ERA. Your sportsbook should heavily favor the Giants in this one, and they won’t disappoint.

Kevin Millwood (7-4, 2.62) vs Barry Zito (3-7, 4.72)
After the young guys take the mound, the veterans will wrap up the series in a Sunday matinee. The 34-year-old Millwood hasn’t allowed more than three runs in a start in his last five outings, including a 6-1 victory over the Astros in which he gave up a run on four hits over seven innings. In nine starts against the Giants, Millwood has a decent 5-3 mark with a 4.25 ERA. He hasn’t been that good on the road this year, but it’s okay - he’ll be facing Zito, who was rocked for seven runs on 10 hits in only 3.2 innings of a 9-7 loss to the Angels. The 31-year-old former Cy Young winner is 0-3 at home with a 4.14 ERA, and while this is his first terrible start in a while, Zito just isn’t consistent enough for those who are sports betting online to put their money on, despite a 17-5 mark in 30 starts against the Rangers. These numbers are staggered because most of it came when Zito was in Oakland and, you know, a good pitcher. Look for the Rangers to avoid the sweep in your offshore sportsbook.
