Tips For Betting On Brazil China – Brazil, China Set To Clash With Nothing To Play For But Pride
When Brazil was added to this year’s World Baseball Classic, there was a sense the team could have a tough time finding its way among the sports betting sleeper picks to surprise at the tournament in such a tough pool. That has certainly been the case as Brazil has opened the WBC with consecutive losses, including a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Cuba in their most recent contest. That leaves Brazil at 0-2 and on the brink of elimination heading in to its final group stage contest, as even a win over China won’t prevent them from heading home.

China has also been eliminated following a 12-0 blowout loss against Cuba on Monday. The Chinese opened with a tough game against Japan before being handed another big loss to Cuba, and with only the top two teams in each pool set to advance, China joins Brazil as the two teams from Pool A that won’t move on.
WBC Betting Preview: Brazil
Since only the top two teams in each four-team pool advance, back-to-back losses pretty much ensures manager Barry Larkin’s team is headed home. The starting pitching has been good for Brazil so far, but the offense wasn’t able to bail them out in a couple of tough contests against two of the best. Brazil managed to keep it close against Cuba and has every reason to be proud of what it has accomplished at this online betting tournament, but still has a lot of work to do before it can compete with the best.
WBC Betting Preview: China
A Jose Abreu fifth-inning grand slam helped Cuba rock the Chinese, as Abreu accounted for five of the team’s runs in a 12-0 win. China didn’t survive the mercy rule and as a result is also headed home, but they will be motivated to get at least one win in a tournament their country has grown to love. China will need a better effort from its bats in order to deal with the Brazilian starting pitching that was much better than their own against Cuba, but even then their own pitching weaknesses could provide problems. China looked much better against Japan than they did in a poor showing against Cuba, so there is reason to believe they can bounce back with a victory.
WBC Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
Although Brazil has had the better showing so far at this tournament, both teams have lost consecutive games and are headed home. The expectations will be higher for China as it looks to avoid a sweep with so many fans making their way to Japan to watch this tournament, and while Brazil should be able to once again hold its own, look for the Chinese to squeeze out a close win and avoid another embarrassment at the tournament.
