Twins vs Angels Odds – Expect a 2-2 series split
The Twins vs Angels odds would’ve been a dud series a couple of months ago, but the MLB betting landscape is ever changing. The Angels have surged to the top of the American League West and, while the Twins aren’t setting the world on fire, no one’s out of the running in the Central. Can the Twinkies make a statement in California?
Twins vs Angels odds: Angels the better team, but the Twins have some favorable matchups
- Don’t bet against Jered Weaver at home
- Liriano heating up and Lackey struggling on the road
- Angels will rock Twins on Saturday; the reverse will happen on Sunday
Tonight, 10:05 p.m. ET
Scott Baker (8-7, 5.10) vs Jered Weaver (10-3, 3.48)
Some betting players want to tread carefully with Jered Weaver right now, as he’s crashed back to Earth with a 7.36 ERA in July after a blazing start to the season. However, tonight is not the time to worry. First, Weaver remains a force at home; he’s 7-1 with a 2.25 ERA at Angels Stadium this season. Another telling start: despite his bloated July ERA, he’s 2-0 this month. The red-hot L.A. offense is giving him great run support.
Scott Baker is a good pitcher but 2009 may be a lost year for him. He’s also winless in five career starts at Angel Stadium, so it’s safe to say the Twins don’t stand a chance tonight.

Francisco Liriano (4-9, 5.33) vs John Lackey (5-4, 4.39)
Slowly but surely, Francisco Liriano is regaining his form for Minnesota. After a brutal April and May, he’s had a sub-4.00 ERA in June and July and is whiffing a batter per inning. His track record at Angel Stadium is brief but good; he tossed six scoreless innings in his only career start there. Another interesting stat: only one member of the current Angels lineup has a single hit off Liriano. The likes of Figgins, Guerrero , Morales and Izturis are all ofer.
John Lackey looks like he’ll peak just in time for the playoffs, but I’m not crazy about his Twins vs Angels odds. He hasn’t pitched well at home this season and the overall numbers favor Liriano. Go with the Twinkies at your offshore sportsbook.

Nick Blackburn (8-4, 3.44) vs TBA
Nick Blackburn takes the hill for Minnesota and his Twins vs Angels odds don’t look good. His July ERA is north of 5.00, and he’s allowed five homers in his last four starts. The sizzling Angels bats should get to him.
The Angels haven’t named a Saturday starter yet, but whoever pitches should be fine, as he’ll get ample run support and the Twins offense is about as scary as Paddington Bear.
MLB betting pick: Angels
Sunday, July 26, 3:35 p.m. ET
Anthony Swarzak (2-3, 4.25) vs Ervin Santana (3-5, 6.79)
If you’re a big proponent of following the numbers when you bet on baseball, part four of the Twins vs Angels odds is the game for you. How about these splits: Ervin Santana is 0-3 with an 11.95 ERA in five home starts this season and Swarzak is 1-0 with a 2.55 ERA in three road starts this season. If you believe in following stat trends at all, stop thinking immediately and throw a bet down on the Twins.
