Yankees vs Jays Odds - Toronto to face streaking Bronx Bombers
The Yankees vs Jays odds should have the Bronx Bombers favored in a solid three of the four contests between the two American League East rivals. Roy Halladay will take to the bump on Saturday for the Jays, but outside of that, the matchups favor the Yankees in this four-game set.
Yankees vs Jays Odds: Yankees soar to the top, Jays fall to the bottom
- Wang improved throughout June
- Chamberlain struggling at Yankee Stadium
- Romero hasn’t allowed an earned run in his last two starts
Yankees vs Jays Odds: Brian Tallet (5-5) vs A.J. Burnett (6-4)
Friday, 1:05 PM ET
Online betting handicappers should expect runs aplenty in the Friday matchup. Brian Tallet has an ERA of 5.65 ERA in day games, and Burnett’s is 4.45. The Yankees are hot right now, which means their bats are going, and Yankees vs Jays betting handicappers should see some runs. On the other hand, Tallet is off a rough outing where he allowed five runs and eight hits in just six innings of work against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.
Yankees vs Jays Odds: Roy Halladay (10-2) vs Chien-Ming Wang (1-6)
Saturday, 1:05 PM ET
While the sportsbook odds will clearly favor Roy Halladay in this matchup, it might not be as lopsided as every thinks. Sure, Halladay is a Cy Young candidate in the AL –maybe even the favorite – and Chien-Ming Wang has been absolutely embarrassing this season, but Wang is coming around. Wang has made three respectable starts in a row, allowing eight earned runs over his last 15.1 innings pitched (4.76 ERA), which is better than the 33 earned runs he’s allowed in his other 21.1 innings pitched. He’s also done a better job of controlling the base paths, posting a WHIP of 1.45 over his last three starts, which is solid compared to his previous WHIP, which was over 2.00.
Yankees vs Jays Odds: Scott Richmond (6-5) vs Joba Chamberlain (4-2)
Sunday, 1:05 PM ET
It’s becoming quite the noticeable trend, and MLB betting handicappers should pay attention: Joba Chamberlain is struggling at the new Yankee Stadium. He’s 0-2 with a 5.17 ERA at Yankee Stadium but 4-0 with a 2.79 when he is on the road. Part of the problem has been his WHIP, which is clearly worse at home. It’s 1.65 at Yankee Stadium and just 1.32 on the road. Meanwhile, Scott Richmond has been an anonymous starter for the Jays but he has pitched well of late. He’s given up just nine earned runs over his last 26.2 innings pitched (3.09 ERA).
Yankees vs Jays Odds: Ricky Romero (6-3) vs Andy Pettitte (8-3)
Monday, 1:05 PM ET
The Yankees vs Jays odds for the fourth and final game of this series will favor the Yankees as two lefties take the mound, but the lesser-known Jays starter might offer good value. Otherwise, Romero has been outstanding of late as he’s given up just five earned runs in his last 29 innings pitched and no earned runs in his last two starts. He’s given up just six hits in that span.
SKIP'S PICK: Look for the two teams to split the four-game series.
