MLB Betting - Battle of the AL's best with Yankees vs Rangers odds
If you bet on sports and stuck with the Yankees and Rangers in May, you probably had a lucrative month. The American League’s biggest boppers caught fire and found themselves atop their respective divisions through Sunday’s action. With a three-game set at the home-run circus known as New Yankee stadium, the Yankees vs Rangers odds will have you betting the OVER all week long.
Yankees vs Rangers odds: Yanks tough to beat in the Bronx this season
- Mark Teixeira is positively on fire
- Andy Pettitte hasn’t figured out the new stadium
- C.C. Sabathia is back to ace form
Tuesday, June 2 – 7:05 p.m. ET
Yankees vs Rangers odds: Vincente Padilla (3-2, 4.71) vs A.J. Burnett (3-2, 4.78)
Innings eater Padilla was brilliant in May (2-0, 1.57 ERA in three starts) before a strained shoulder – his throwing shoulder – landed him a DL stint for 15 days. He’ll try to shake off the rust at Yankee Stadium, but is it smart to trust him at the offshore sportsbook? A big bat stands his way – Mark Teixeira’s. The new Yankee signing exploded for 13 homers in May and 12 of his 16 long balls through Sunday’s games came against righties, so he’s a good bet to go off against Padilla. Burnett owned the Rangers in his last start, tossing six scoreless innings, and he could repeat his success since the Rangers likely won’t have Josh Hamilton, who remains sidelined with groin/abdomen problems.
DALE’S PICK: Bet on the Yankees.
Wednesday, June 3 – 7:05 p.m. ET
Yankees vs Rangers odds: Scott Feldman (4-0, 3.91) vs Andy Pettitte (5-1, 4.10)
At 5-1, Pettitte looks like an attractive MLB betting play every time out, but the truth is that he’s only good on the road this season. He simply hasn’t figured out the new Stadium, as his ERA there (5.57) is almost three runs higher than his road ERA (2.59). Against tough righty hitters like Ian Kinsler, Michael young and Nelson Cruz, Pettitte is in big trouble Wednesday. Feldman hasn’t been too effective against the Yanks, but he’ll get the run support he needs. This should be a barn burner.
DALE’S PICK: Bet on the Rangers.
Thursday, June 4 – 1:05 p.m. ET
Yankees vs Rangers odds: Brandon McCarthy (5-2, 4.25) vs C.C. Sabathia (5-3, 3.46)
Finally, here’s the C.C. the Yankees paid out the nose for; he went 4-1 with a 2.56 ERA in six May starts. Unlike Pettitte, he’s survived at home, sporting a 3.97 ERA and, amazingly, allowing just one homer. Ian Kinsler has hit a few long flys off Sabathia in his career and could easily tag him Thursday, but the Yanks should still triumph. McCarthy has struggled to a 4.97 ERA and .317 opponents average on the road this year and those numbers may climb even higher after he makes a stop at Yankee stadium.
DALE’S PICK: Bet on the Yankees.
