NBA's best point guards go head to head on Saturday
- Hornets vs Jazz odds: Paul, Williams set for another head-to-head battle in Utah
- Celtics vs Suns odds: Garnett-less Celtics head to the desert
Anyone betting sports this weekend is in for a treat in the NBA, as the top point guards in the league will be the attraction when Utah hosts New Orleans. In Sunday’s nationally-televised game, Boston’s online sportsbook odds should take a hit when they travel to Phoenix without All-Star Kevin Garnett.
Hornets vs Jazz odds: Saturday, February 21 at 9:00 p.m. ET
The Jazz should be NBA betting favorites in this contest, as they’ll be catching the Hornets a night after they play the Lakers in Los Angeles on Friday and Utah is also one of the best home teams in the league. All eyes will be on the point-guard position, as New Orleans’ Chris Paul and Utah’s Deron Williams are generally regarded as the best in the league, or at least in the top three.
Williams has been playing out of his mind lately, putting up 26.8 points and 10.0 assists in his last five games. The Jazz have dominated the Hornets recently, taking eight of their 10 meetings. Look for the Jazz to take advantage of a tired New Orleans team, so make Utah your online betting pick.
Celtics vs Suns odds: Sunday, February 22 at 2:30 p.m. ET
The NBA line on this game should be close but probably tilted towards the Suns as Kevin Garnett went down with a knee injury in Thursday’s loss in Utah. There’s no timetable for his return, but the Celtics will probably err on the side of caution with their future Hall-of-Famer.
The Suns have shown some life since firing Terry Porter, as they averaged a staggering 141 points in back-to-back wins over the Clippers this week. The Celtics have won two straight over the Suns but have dropped six of their last 10 meetings overall. No Garnett would be a huge blow to the Celtics’ half-court defense, so expect a big day from Shaquille O’Neal in the post. Make the Phoenix Suns one of your NBA picks on Sunday.
