Longhorns, Bears look to keep pace in Big 12
Online betting: key matchups in the Big 12, Big Ten
- Bears look to end drought against Longhorns
- Boilermakers go for four in a row over Badgers
March Madness odds are a little over a month away, which means each NCAA basketball betting matchup becomes increasingly important. Tuesday holds a pair of matchups from the Big 12 and Big Ten, respectively, as No. 15 Texas looks to continue its dominance over No. 23 Baylor. In other action, No. 18 Purdue aims for its fourth straight victory over Wisconsin.
Texas vs Baylor Odds – Tuesday, January 27, 9:00 PM ET
The Bears (15-4) are at home, but will they be favored over a team they have lost 22 times in a row to? That’s right, the Longhorns (14-4) have beaten Baylor in 22 straight games, but the gulf in class has been getting smaller, as Texas’ average margin of victory has been only 4.8 points in its last five meetings with the Bears. Texas rebounded from a tough loss to Oklahoma by beating Texas Tech on the road, and then Texas A&M at home.
The Bears are coming off a loss to the Sooners, but they do have a sparkling 11-1 mark at home, as opposed to Texas’ 2-3 record on the road. Look for the home crowd to inspire its players, so bet on Baylor to snap its winless streak against Texas.
Purdue vs Wisconsin Odds – Tuesday, January 27, 9:00 PM ET
The Boilermakers (17-3) should be NCAA basketball betting favorites on the road against the Badgers (12-7), who have dropped four in a row overall, as well as four straight to Purdue. The Boilermakers kicked off this streak with a 65-52 victory at home over Wisconsin, holding the Badgers to 37.5 percent shooting from the floor. This came as no surprise, as Purdue leads the nation in opposition field-goal percentage at 35.6%.
To be fair to Wisconsin, a couple of breaks have cost it some wins; two losses came in overtime, while it lost to Illinois by just seven.. However, the Badgers aren’t good enough offensively to overcome the Boilermakers’ swarming defense. Bet on Purdue to make it five in a row over Wisconsin in this NCAA basketball betting contest.
