Michigan State vs North Carolina odds will signal the end of March Madness on Monday night when this year’s NCAA champion is determined. They’ll be the sportsbook favorite on Monday when they take on a feisty Michigan State team.

The Spartans matched Connecticut blow-for-blow and then some on Saturday, coming away with a physical 82-73 victory over the favored Huskies. After struggling in the Tournament with a broken nose, Raymar Morgan had 18 points and nine rebounds to go with five steals, while Kalin Lucas had a game-high 21 points for the Spartans.
In a meeting of two of the best rebounding teams in the country, Michigan State was outrebounded 41-40 by the bigger Huskies, but the Spartans' bruising style of play seemed to throw off UConn. The Spartans had 25 fouls compared to UConn’s 18, but they needed to set the tone to rattle the Huskies, and it clearly worked.
The Tar Heels started fast and never looked back in an 83-69 victory over Villanova, and Ty Lawson had another brilliant game with 22 points, eight assists and seven boards for Carolina, which hit 11 of its 22 three-point attempts. After a slow start in last year’s final cost Carolina against Kansas, the Tar Heels raced out to a 17-point lead in the first half, as Lawson and Wayne Ellington were pushing the tempo and ’Nova just couldn’t keep up.
The Tar Heels held the Wildcats to 32.9 percent from the field, including a miserable 5-of-27 from long distance. However, North Carolina had some problems at the foul line, hitting only 22 of its 37 attempts. The Tar Heels are normally a great free-throw shooting team, so online betting players shouldn’t worry too much.
Sports betting lines have the Tar Heels as a 7.5-point favorite on Monday night, and North Carolina is 5-2 in seven meetings against the Spartans, including 3-0 in the Tournament. This will be their second meeting of the season at Ford Field, but the Spartans would like to forget the 98-63 thrashing they took from the Tar Heels on Dec. 3. Lucas played a terrible game as the Spartans had 21 turnovers and shot 34.8 percent from the field, while Tyler Hansbrough put up 25 and 11 boards for the Tar Heels. Michigan State is a much better team now, but so are the Tar Heels.
WASHINGTON’S PICK: Hansbrough, Lawson, Wayne Ellington and Danny Green came back to Chapel Hill to win a championship, and the way that North Carolina has buckled down on defense shows just how much they want this title. The Spartans will once again have the majority of the crowd backing them, but North Carolina has been the best team all season, and they’ll be rewarded on Monday. Bet on North Carolina.
