Last season, the Sixers had trouble dealing with Howard as he dominated the paint, but the Sixers now have the advantage with Brand and a healthy center, Samuel Dalembert.

Online betting odds are sometimes tricky on Thursday nights since the teams know they are playing in front of a national audience. Look for the Magic to make an early season statement. They can’t afford to lose at home to an up and coming team that they will likely be jockeying for position with.

In the late game, NBA betting aficionados will get to see a Western Conference match-up with similar undertones. The Houston Rockets will travel to Portland to face the Trail Blazers in a contest made for sports betting.

The Rockets will have a huge edge on the interior as Greg Oden will miss this contest, which means Yao Ming should have an easy time for the Rockets. The Rockets are a solid defensive team and, with their new addition in Ron Artest, can keep Brandon Roy under wraps; the Trail Blazers will have a tough time scoring.

But for the Rockets, they also seem to slow themselves down. Even with big names like Yao, Artest and Tracy McGrady, the Rockets are still having trouble finding an offensive rhythm.

The Trail Blazers have started the season sluggishly and there’s no better way than to bounce back in front of a national audience of online betting sharps.
