Celtics Magic Betting – Magic Will Succeed Where Cavaliers Failed
The Boston Celtics shocked the world when they ousted LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern conference semi-finals but they will have a tough time pulling one more upset. The Magic are rolling right now and have yet to lose in the playoffs. Online betting fans know that they are too deep, too versatile and too athletic for the aging Celtics.
The Story
The Celtics pulled a stunner when they upended James and the Cavaliers. It wasn’t so shocking that they actually won, it was just the fashion that they did it. They broke the will of the Cavs and James, which we never thought we would see. Are the Celtics that good or are the Cavs just not good enough?
The Celtics were falling apart at the end of the regular season so we may see them revert to that in this series.
On the flip side, NBA betting fans have yet to see the Magic lose a game these playoffs. They crushed the Charlotte Bobcats and Atlanta Hawks, and now they’ll have home court advantage against the Celtics. The Magic should be able to advance to the NBA Finals once again.
SCeltics vs Magic: Better Starters?
The better starters have to go to Orlando. The Celtics do have an excellent lineup themselves with Kevin Garnett, Rajan Rondo, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kendrick Perkins. But the Celtics are a bit young and a bit more versatile.
Dwight Howard is going to be a problem for the Celtics in this series, Rashard Lewis is typically a matchup nightmare, Matt Barnes is decent defensively, Vince Carter is capable of some serious hot flashes and Jameer Nelson is a borderline All-Star as well.
For the Celtics to win this matchup, Rondo again has to be an MVP. If he can, the Celtics should be able to keep up in the points-scored column but the Magic have a ton of versatility that will be tough for the Celtics to handle on defense.
Edge: MagicCeltics vs Magic: Better Bench?
The Celtics do have some good pieces off the bench – and probably the better ones. Rasheed Wallace, Glen Davis and Tony Allen are all good contributors.
Meanwhile, the Magic counter with Mikael Pietrus, Marcin Gorta, while Brandon Bass and J.J. Redick give them some options.
This is close but the question is how good will Wallace be? Sometimes he’s a team cancer and other times, he’s the reason why they win. The Celtics get a slight edge here.
Edge: CelticsCeltics vs Magic: X-Factor?
For the Celtics, there are a couple of x-factors. If they can get Howard into foul trouble, which he has been susceptible of, then they’ll be able to dictate play. If not, Howard will deter Rondo from coming into the lane and the Celtics game plan will change.
At the same time, Rondo has to dominate. Garnett, Pierce and Allen can contribute quite well, but they are all past their prime and Rondo has to be the best player in this entire series on either side for the Celtics to win.
For the Magic, their x-factor is the three-point line and home court advantage. The Celtics are not on their level and if they can continue to chip in a bunch of points from the three-point line and they don’t let the Celtics get any free wins – like the Cavaliers allowed them – on their home court, then the Magic should win this series.
Who’s Gonna Win?
Sports betting fans might be hoping that this Celtics team is a throwback to their championship years but they are not. They are still a team that was coming apart at the seams in the regular season and they were handed an easier path with a quitting Cavaliers team.
This Magic team is experienced and hungry. That will be a tough combination to stop on top of the fact that they are younger, more versatile and have home court advantage.
