NBA Betting Odds - Suns, Spurs, Lakers should come away victorious

Posted by Craig Parsons on 11/19/2009 2:23:47 PM
betting in basketballOnline betting players are usually glued to the television on Thursday nights for TNT’s NBA doubleheader, but this Thursday, there’s an extra game on the schedule for FOX viewers as BetOnline.com tips off its weekly Thursday picks. The stars are always out for the televised games, so let’s get right into the NBA betting action.

WHAT: NBA betting
WHEN: Thursday, November 19, beginning at 8:00 PM ET
WHERE: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans; AT&T Center, San Antonio; Staples Center, Los Angeles
PICKS: Suns -8, UNDER 214.5; Jazz +5, OVER 197.5; Bulls +9.5, OVER 195.53

Suns vs Hornets odds – 8:00 PM ET
The Suns (10-2) are 8-point NBA betting favorites in this Western Conference battle, and they’re one of the hottest teams in the league. Steve Nash leads the league in assists, and steers the NBA’s most potent offense. He could have a field day against the struggling Hornets (4-8), who have a new interim head coach in Jeff Bower, and a missing Chris Paul (ankle). The Suns have won two straight against New Orleans, including a 124-104 win at home on Remembrance Day. The Suns cover, and take the under, as the New Orleans offense is bound to have problems without Paul.

NBA Betting Pick: Suns -8, UNDER 214.5

Jazz vs Spurs odds – 8:30 PM ET
The Spurs (4-5) are listed as 5-point sportsbook favorites at home, and they’ll be out to avenge a 113-99 loss in Utah on November 5th. However, they’ve dropped two in a row, and Manu Ginobili (groin) left their overtime loss against Dallas early. The Jazz (5-6) have been as inconsistent as the Spurs, and that could be down to Deron Williams, who has missed time due to injury and family matters. The Jazz haven’t won in San Antonio since February 1999, a span of 20 games. This is their best chance in recent memory.

NBA Betting Pick: Jazz +5, OVER 197.5

Bulls vs Lakers odds – 10:30 PM ET
The Lakers (8-3) are favored by 9.5 points at home, but they’ve struggled to cover so far with a 4-7 record against the spread. The Bulls (6-4) are having problems scoring points, but they’re fourth in the NBA in points allowed, which will keep this game close. Chicago has lost eight of their last 10 in Los Angeles, but they’re bound to prevent the Lakers from covering this nearly double-digit point spread with their defense. They may even be able to snatch an outright win….providing Kobe Bryant doesn’t go into “Black Mamba” mode. Bryant (groin) was limping against Houston on Sunday, but rebounded with 40 points against Detroit on Tuesday.

NBA Betting Pick: Bulls +9.5, OVER 195.5
