Opportune Games This Week
All toughened NBA hoop bettors live and die with the schedule and there are several games this week where players can put themselves in good positions.
Tuesday night could be a pick a number game. The lowly Washington Wizards roll into Chicago, arguably the best team in the East and they will be tired.
They had to host the high octane Oklahoma Thunder on Monday and could be totally on fumes.
Okay, the number will be huge and the Bulls could try to take a night off but they are in a dogfight to try to surpass the Celtics as the best in the East to get the number 1 seed so the motivation will be there.
The Bulls pistol-whipped the Wizards the last day of February winning by 28. And Chicago had every right to phone that game in, as it was the 2nd event of a 5-game trip with powerhouses around the corner.
After 30 away games this season, Washington only won once straight up and overall they are a minus 17 against the spread.
Expect the second unit of the Bulls to get plenty of minutes and strut their collective stuff.
The Dallas Mavericks could find themselves in a sucker game on Wednesday March 16 at Golden State. The Warriors have had the Mavericks number in recent years in California. In an 8-game stretch at Golden State, Dallas failed to cover in 6 of 8.
The Warriors have had a full day to rest since making the short flight from Phoenix.
Look for the likely home pup Warriors to play hard and possibly win outright.
Denver has a huge game on Friday the 18th in Orlando. They will have had a full day to rest since playing Atlanta and know that it will get much tougher on Saturday when the have to travel to South Beach. Orlando meanwhile is in a very strangely scheduled game as this is one home game surrounded by 5 on the pavement.
The thing that makes the Nuggets extremely attractive in this game is the way they have been playing of late. Since the Melodrama of losing Carmelo Anthony played itself out, they covered 7 of first 8 after Melo and they blew some teams out to boot.
There will be some players that are sky high on Saturday when Indiana rolls into Beale Street to face the Memphis Grizzlies. Both squads are trying to secure the last seed to gain entrance into the playoffs.
Memphis has had a day to recoup since playing in New York while Indy had to play the Celtics on Wednesday and were in the air last night after playing the Bulls.
The Griz handled Pacers in Indy the day after Christmas in a 14-point cover and Memphis has beaten some elite teams this money. The won against San Antonio, Dallas and Oklahoma all in a 6-day stretch.
Betting hoops is tough enough considering the bad calls, the tempers of the players, the technical fouls and the normal ebb and flow of every single game but when players put the percentages in their favor by betting on games where one time has some edge, that is where they can sometime take advantage.
